Don't know the full details but I had heard that the family wanted to play it on the 1st February in Flancare but hadn't mentioned it to the club and/or the groundsman, with a game for the 5th arranged against Rovers. The pitch is very soft at the minute after all the rain recently so I think it was being suggested that the game be played later in the month. Certainly I don't think it woudnt be the case that the club flat out wouldn't allow the use of Flancare, they've always been fully supportive of the idea in the past. Is it supposed to be against Athlone or the colleges side anyway there always seems to be confusion?

The first year it was run there were 2 games. One against a combined colleges team and one against Athlone.

I knew there had to be a good reason. Heard it from someone with a chip on their shoulder so took it with a pinch of salt.

I think it's against a colleges selection, by the way.
