New Second Division Clubs

The Irish Football League today announced the teams successful in gaining admission to the IFL Intermediate Second Division for season 2003/04.

Annagh Utd, Dergview, Queens University & Wakehurst will now participate in a newly restructured Second Division of 12 teams, joining the bottom eight teams from last season's Second Division.

League Secretary Mr. Harry Wallace commented "We extend a warm welcome to the clubs successful on gaining admission to the Second Division of the IFL Intermediate League, and wish each of them every success for the forthcoming season.

There is no reason why these clubs, and indeed the others in the IFL Intermediate Divisions cannot be playing in senior football in a few years time; if clubs are professionally managed and have the ambition to succeed, our restructured Divisions with promotion and relegation throughout offer this chance."

For confirmation, the twelve teams participating in the IFL Second Division in season 2003/04 will be: Annagh Utd FC, Banbridge Town FC, Chimney Corner FC, Coagh Utd FC, Crewe Utd FC, Dergview FC, Dundela FC, Portstewart FC, PSNI FC, Queens University AFC, Tobermore Utd FC & Wakehurst FC.

In addition the following appointments were made:-

Chairman B.H. Dunlop (PSNI FC)
Vice-Chairman A Caughey (Brantwood FC)
Executive Committee (First Division) R. Loughery (Moyola Park FC), F. Magee (HW Welders FC), R. Nesbitt (Loughgall FC)
Executive Committee (Second Division) R. Larmour (Banbridge Town FC), E. Murray (Portstewart FC), J. Steed (Dundela FC)
