Good signing. Harps were also after him at one stage but then seemed to lose interest.

Hes definitely a great signing and still very young. Rumours that there is at least one more player to be be signed plus up to 8 of last years u 21's who will feature with the "A" Team.

well done to Tony and Nick on this coup as Cork were sure they had him signed.

Great little player, a real fans' favourite here last year.Pity we couldn't keep him. I assume he's gone full time with ye?

Ye has gone full time and id say the chance of playing premier football rather than being backup swung it for us.

Galway have got themselves a very good player - if he develops at the same rate as he did over last season then he will be a very very good player!

Two seasons ago I saw a lot of him at Kilkenny - he was played in midfield but obviously had instructions to get forward as much as possible. He has a good shot on him, can catch the ball sweetly on the volley and has quick feet

Last year at Longford he really matured and progressed as a player. Matthews played him in midfield but much much deeper. Well able to tackle, not afraid of getting stuck in. Problems with his temperment disappeared and his attitude was spot on. He got forward at the right times and was very good at following the play up. His passing improved a lot also - he wouldnt be described as a great passer of the ball but uses it well and keeps things simple as well as always being on the lookout for a through ball to Mooney

Excellent signing.

Good to see United continuing to bring in promising young players rather than aging mercenaries.

The Athlone posters would know better, he is from there and played for them.
He didn't really feature for GUFC during last season, and was sent on loan to
Irish League side Institute.

Davoren has hardly improved to EL standard while at Institute.

Hope he gets on all right in de town all the same.
