Re the 22 suffix titles of English teams - Question is are you including Dagenham & Redbridge which is more of a combined name as opposed to a suffix in normal sense, otherwise I reckon the 21 are -
1.United, 2. Villa, 3. City, 4. Rovers, 5. Hotspurs, 6. Wanderers, 7. Athletic, 8. County, 9. Albion, 10. Palace, 11. Argyle, 12. Rangers, 13. Wednesday, 14. North End, 15. Forest, 16. Orient, 17. Alexandra, 18. Town, 19. Vale, 20. Dons, 21.Stanley. If to be included 22. Redbridge.

I guess the same applies for a rebound from the crossbar? Always recognised the ref as being just another legal pitch-bound object like a goalframe or corner flag. Wonder if such a goal has ever been allowed?

Correct and yes it has - in the LSL Div 3B, I saw it many years ago looking at a referee in Tallaght, I laughed a lot when I saw it and the referee knew straight after the tip off what a boo boo he made. You can only learn from it
