From Southampton's site: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=9594
Here's hopin it goes well for him. I'm surprised he hasn't made a breakthrough at Villa this year. He hasn't even made the bench which i can't believe.

great loan move,he has time on his side but in my opinion if he doesn't start getting a couple of games and a place on the bench next season then its time to move on and get experience in the championship who knows after that at least he will have another cork lad down at southhampton alan bennett is on loan there as well

good stuff, he is only there for a month isnt he.
good news about mellberg and cahill leaving should give a few more chances.

Mellberg not leaving till the end of the season. But he plays right back and the cover there is Craig Gardner.
Centre Back they have Davies, Laursen and Knight. So he won't get in there unless there is an emergency and as for left back the fans love Wilfred Bouma and the cover is Gareth Barry and I don't see him gettin in there.
So the loan move should keep him good and hopefully he gets recalled to Villa before the end of the season where he can hopefully make a premiership debut in thje closing games if Villa have nothing to play for.

Martin O'Neill wasn't too happy when he didn't get a game last week. Other clubs (below Southampton) were apparently keen but he went to Southampton because he was told he would play. Little point in going at all if he's only going to get a sub appearance here and there for a month so O'Neill was rightly ****ed off.

they dont want to take barry away from centre mid so he want be full cover for bouma. with bouma so injury prone in recent seasons all must of thought that steve would get his opportunity!!
unluckiest player in that sense IMO

He played for Saints reserves last night: http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=9665
Their policy is not to use players from their first-team 16 (11+subs) in these matches. Doesn't bode too well for Hally getting a run out this weekend...
