Long shot I know, but if anyone has 2 spare tickets to the Andy Lee fight in the University of Limerick, I'll gladly take them off your hands

Sold out then?
How much were they face value?
I'm off to my first pro-boxing night in Neptune Stadium at the end of the month.
Very excited.

Ah right, that's very good.
Cork fight tickets are 40, 50 and 75 ringside.
Sounded a bit steep but I don't know what the going rate is.

There is your answer. Tough guy but Lee's punching is so powerful.

Not a good one at all I'd say.
Not a total boxing buff but from what I've seen they're leagues apart.
Duddy was very lucky with that decision the night of the Mayweather fight.

 Wrong on both counts.
I'd say Lee will probably develop into the better fighter but its nowhere near as clearcut as you say. Duddy has fought more tougher fights.

Lee is ranked 14th in the world at the moment with Duddy 11th so they are not Leagues apart. Remember Andy Lee has only been a pro for 2 years so Duddy has more experience and tougher fights so given time Andy Lee will be a better boxer than him IMO

no it was mc closkey alright who was very impressive! Macklin's fight was called off cos the other guy didn't turn up(family bereavement iirc)

Lee beaten last night. Harsh stoppage. Was winning on points at the time but he took some big shots in round 7. Got involved in a brawl, which he should not have.

By the looks of it he was going to go down at some stage.

How the hell was that stopped? Lee tagged Vera, Vera's legs nearly went, he clocked Lee again, Lee again threw a shot back and somehow the ref stopped it mental. Lee had been in trouble earlier in the round, but, I think Vera was in more trouble at that point. Watch his knees nearly go with Lee's punch just before it's stopped.

ya i saw that i think if it had kept going either one could have fallen, but up until then lee did look well beaten, however his legs NEVER went. Rematch etc written all over it. Definitely controversial and ive heard the rumours circulating already...
macklin had a good fight against campos.

Lee had been in trouble earlier in the round.
I'm guessing that earlier in the round, the referee had seen Lee in trouble and had said to himself "If he takes one more big shot to the head, I'm going to stop it". But I think too much time had elapsed since Lee had last been hurt for that rationale to still work. And if a fighter is ahead on points (some poster said Lee was) and hasn't been knocked in the round or fight, he really should be out on his feet for a referee to step in.
That said, Lee contributed to his own demise by not putting his hands up and also by trying to counterpunch. Putting your hands down and allowing your opponent to (try to) hit you so you can counter is not a wise move when you've been hurt earlier in the round. And the fact that Lee allowed that big punch to land, even though his counter also landed hard, would suggest that he wasn't reacting at 100%.

Anyone that watches boxing regularly could tell you that Lee and Macklin are very ordinary. Peters is doing a good job in duping the public into thinking we have talented boxers

I watched the Lee fight over the weekend, a bad stoppage no doubt but Lee looked very ordinary was dragged down to Vera’s lever way too easily, never put any combinations together. Lee should have been able to pick him off at will, he was walking in with his head all over the place, given his reach advantage Lee should have been jabbing him into oblivion.
He must have something going for him to be at the kronk Gym with Manny Steward but he looked very average, not close to being a world level contender at the moment that’s for sure.

I havent seen much lee bar whats on youtube, but that match last friday shows he is very one dimensional and cant adapt to a "fight", macklin can from what i have seen of him and althought he is in ordinary unless lee can adapt he wont go as far as macklin cos he isnt able to fight inside.

august rematch by the sounds of things....someone was saying though lees eyes were rolling round in his head as he went back to his corner....plus manny stewart seemed to think it was the right decision, so must have seen or noticed something we didnt.
