Just to separate this out from the thread it appeared in, to keep Poor Student happy.

A few questions:

1) Is this practice of burning tri-colours a regular thing at Linfield/IL games?
2) Has anyone ever seen a union jack being burned at eL games?
3) Will the idiots burning the tri-colour in the picture be
a. Banned from all IL games
b. Given a slap on the back and told well done
c. Given a good finger wagging and told not to do it again you brazen little scamps

Ok.

Still doesn't answer my question though. Is this taken seriously up north? Are bannings handed out?

BTW, I'm not trying to bash any IL/Linfield fans. I just find it offensive seeing images like the one above and I am just wondering is there anything being done about this. I also want to know if it happens often?

Scum what can you say now i expect the usual minority of fans not real fans ****** you should ask the bohs fans for a few pointers they are great at deflecting blame

We don't deflect blame.. they were in our stand and wearing our colours. Does it happen often? Not really, not anymore. Why did it happen? I would say it is more to do with the fact that Cliftonville always seem to have loads of tricolours amongst their support, and so burning it was more an anti Cliftonville thing than anything sinister.

Will they be banned? If found, it may be tried, but there is no law up here that would back that action up (unike the Mainland). Usually these kinds don't come to games, so they really are 2 games a year charlies..but we are working on it.

Surely the club have to right to refuse entry to anyone they wish?
