Yeah. Apparently, the club have scooped a guy who fulfilled a PR role at Birmingham City. Has since tried his hand at club management but has discovered that the spoof surrounding the PR business is more suited to his talents. A great day in the history of Sligo Rovers FC. He will be unveiled at a 'Platinum Club' reception in the Radisson at 4pm. Get yerself out there !!

Since I've joined this community I've been accused of being negative on more than one occasion and probably warranted the tag.
Tonight's news though for me is a real eye opener and I have to give credit where credit is definitely due. Our last CPO was definitely a non-runner but in Keith O Dwyer we have a gem. I know Keith personally and I know he will leave no stone unturned to promote the club he has a burning love for. For me this announcement rates as highly as any great news which has gone before. Keith will do a superb job and I wish him every success in his new position.

he's a busy man so. between that,ocean fm, the new job now and hes also manages st johns u18s and sligo leitrim u18s. Definitely a good man for the job, good luck to him

The CPO position was only introduced last year,
Keith was Commercial Manager back then.

Six months time is when to say if it is a fantastic appointment or not, I wish the lad well but find it hard to understand the excitement on this board. Does he have experience in promotions?

People are just happy with the appointment becuase we all know keith and know that he's Rovers through and through. He's a figure people know well and there's no harm in people being confident he will do a good job. foot.ie can be used for other things than negativity. The CPO can been seen as a starting point for people coming into the club.Keith will garner the experience needed while in the job. It's a full-time job and if supported he'll do a great job !!
