Ok with the Euro tie on the way, and way too much free time at work, I've decided to go on a Bulgarian fact-finding mission for those going to Bulgaria

So to start off

why? looking to snag a bride on your trip over there? ;)

I'm sure James could give you some trips (on what not to do) after scouring Poland, Lithuania & Latvia :D

Hmmm... you'd want to watch out - some of my friends from school went skiing over there (skiing is a bit like triiodochloromethane - sorry just a sad joke from Chemistry class!) anyway when they were out on the **** one of them thought he'd scored with a Bulgarian bird, though it turned out that she was looking for money in exchange! ;)

If you check that CIA site properly you will find no evidence whatsoever that I have a history of skiing with BULGARIAN women while adding to my impressive Liteks Lovech programme collection.

BTW, you should see some of the babes using the internet facilities here...must see if I can exchange anything with them or even enquire if the are looking for money, in which case I'll call in JC for advice. Oh, balderdash: here comes my wife with her hair in a bun...

General Information

Location
Bulgaria is situated in Southeast Europe and occupies the eastern part of the Balkan Peninsula.
To the north it borders on Romania, to the west on the Republic of Macedonia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, to the east on the Black Sea, to the south on Greece and to the southeast on Turkey's European part.
Area: 111.000 sq km.

Relief
Extremely varied: large plains and lowlands, low and high mountains, valleys and lovely gorges.

Climate
Temperate continental with clearly marked four seasons.
A Mediterranean influence is felt in the country's southern regions.
The average annual temperature is 10.5°C.
The average January temperature is around O°C.
Average summer temperatures rarely exceed 30°C.

Language
Bulgarian.
English, German, French and Russian is spoken in the country's resorts, hotels and restaurants.

Alphabet
Cyrillic. Signs along international motorways, in airports and resorts are also spelled in Roman letters.

Religion
86.6% of the population is Eastern Orthodox, 13% are Muslims. The Bulgarian Church is autonomous and headed by a Patriarch.

Eventhough you seemed to know everthing else about Bulgaria i've given up trying to source those uptodate Bulgarian music charts for ya! Who knows why needed anyways ;)

Even Hungarian fella at work no use. Like hes from Eastern Europe too. Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania...whats the difference.... :confused:
