Before I go mad tonight ripping out all the cables behind my telly units I thought to check if anyone has recently put in a DVD recorder.
Will be getting the Sky+ in soon, probably not for a couple of months though, and this is a Christmas pressie so would like to get it working anyway, and would keep it for hard copies of matches and what not.
It's a Sony box, don't have the model number to hand, and I have just a scart connection from the Sky digital decoder to the recorder and another onward from the recorder to the TV as I've no need to record from the terrestrial signal.
The Sky signal is going through grand to the telly (when the DVD recorder is switched off), the playback of DVDs is grand, but I can't get anything when I try to record, not even a point to start from.
Turning on the recorder with no disc in it only leads to a blank screen and the menus when called up seem to offer no way of manually tuning in the Sky signal so it looks like I'm missing something pretty basic.
Oh, am also a bit of an eejit in these matters. :D
Anyone with any ideas would be much appreciated. Am beginning to get disappointed looks from the pressie giver. :o

Cheers anto, can't wait to get home now to check out if it was as simple as that all the time. :)

Sweet as, Anto.
The small 'Input' button at the top was the key.
Everyone now happy again! :)
