I noticed Hunt captained Reading today.
Scored 2 goals too although the BBC gave the freekick one
to the keeper which seems unfair (Sky gave Hunt both).
Actually looking at the free Kick it looked as though he saw the
keeper off his line and gave it a go.

Also nice miss by Keane, almost as bad a Berbatovs.(close call).

Hunt, the master of scoring goals that "the keeper stopped."

dunne is best candidate, it is wrong to have centre forward as captain as game is played behind him, whereas dunne can see play in front of him and b*llock people when needed.plus at moment he is best centre half in epl, sven says if he was english would a definite starter on current form

I'm not saysing that Hunt should be Captain of Ireland, just noting Coppel
made him captain of his 'second string' side and they got a better result than the 'first string'.
Might have been different if Spurs strikers were as good at finishing as Hunt is ;)

Hunt has the be the most in form Irish player at the moment. Playing a great stuff, so much so that he's getting targeted for special treatment at this stage.

Dunne i would say is the most inform irish player, he has been a pillar of strength for city this season, with hunt a close second

Surely Robbie Keane is second. Nobody has scored more goals this year than Keane in the Premiership.

another MOM for Hunt this weekend I see. Reading need to do everything in its power to keep him.

I think this is Robbie's best first half to a season that I can remember. He was on fire until a couple of weeks ago, but seems to have gone off the boil a bit. His misses at Arsenal probably knocked his confidence.

No Robbie Keane score more Premiership goals than anybody in 2007

You after to wonder was Hunt made captain by Coppell in order to try to convince him to stay at the club.
As for Irish captain only one answer Dunne

Has to be Dunne no question even though Robbie is playing well as is Hunt.

Wouldnt like Hunt to leave Reading for Sunderland, if Hunt should move, it should be to a club like Everton or Villa - a move up the table rather than down.

Sunderland are probably offering better wages, so he may be thinking it's a good career move financially.
