Adrian murphy is a genious. definitly a player for the future. he practially solod around 4 ucd players, pure class. theres rumours going around that he is going to get a scholarship with ucd for our sake lets hope hes not. also thought alan murphy looked like he was getting his fine wing dribbling skills but he still has a bit to go. And were proud to say another local was playing for the town last night making his second start. played well i thought but could and can do better just lack of experience. Also i thought Lavine should have had a little bit more manners when he was brought off. he didnt play as well as he could have and he should have wished adrian good luck when he was coming off for him instead he walked straight into the dressing romm looking very angry. he was also the only starting player that didnt go back to the pub after the game last night.

although what he done was unacceptable, i still kinda felt sorry for him i thought the referee was completely against him, i hate saying it but he either dosent like him or hes a racist. but he was still shi*e. he booked foley and vinnie after the game. and when he was walking off the pitch he was booed and the smarmy fu**er smiled and winked at us.

Is the scholarship worth more than a contract with the Town? Hopefully they'll be as good as down when that comes around, and that'll make a difference...

yeah hopefully. but he is definitly going to college next year and if he if offered everything for free im sure he would find it very hard to turn down. if he accepts a scholarship does he have to play for them? i say that would be the main reason why he would be offered it in the first place.

I'ld say Murph may get a GAA scholarship and thus enable him to do both... in a perfect world

he wont want a gaa scholarship because he is only concentrating on soccer he only played for mels this year. he could have been on the longford minor team but he didnt want to be. so thats highly doubtful. but youd never know he might not want to go to ucd at all. i believe he said he is kepping his options open. and if he is offered a good contract this would make it alot easier for him to pay fo food, a place to stay or whatever he needs. but i think he is one of our most important players, i would even classify him more important than Lavine

i know i'm a bit late with this but i've been away for a week , eric made an effort on saturday, even though francis scored he was a waste of space and he should have been taken off earlier. would it not be worse if eric went into the dugout and caused a scene, he did the right thing, walked away when feeling angry.

I think the main reason Lavine was taken off was because Matthews felt he had run out of steam and wasn't fit enough. By all accounts he aint puttin in the work in training, when he turns up, and thats the main problem..As for Murphy i believe UCD did offer a scholarship but were told to get lost by his father who saw how Stephen Lynch was treated by them, withdrawing his scholarship after a year. Matthews rates him highly and wants him to sign a contract once he has his Leaving finished, as was agreed with father.

I think Adrian was offered a scholarship by UCD, but he turned it down as he wants to play for Longford Town. But I do know that he has signed a PRO-contract for this season with the Town. He signed for the Town just before the start of the season.
