That leaves 3 dates left for are other away game. I dont think we have much option other than the above and the only flexibility will be when we have our double header away game. Do we have it in the 1st part of the campaign, In June mid campaign or at the end of the campaign. I can't see us having a home game to finish as we are 3rd seeds and we cant have home games in Sept or June so that rules out six dates so the 5 away dates need to be fitted into 7 possible dates.

We should arrange the Italy home game for the 28/03/09..... seeing as we always play better in March

Read the end of my post where I say that the final away game can be in 1 of three dates.

No real need, I think. It's only blanks at the moment; when concrete dates are set, I'll change the away game titles, and sure people can't plan anything (home or away) until the dates are set anyway.

Ok no prob, just thought it might be handy so people do go booking holidays or stuff like that around the time of matches.

totally agree...it is handy to know the dates now as you say.. people will now book their holidays around them irrespective of being home or away..

Yeah, was thinking the same myself, its a strange one alright.
I do apologise if its already been mentioned elsewhere, but does anyone know the date of the meeting during which the fixtures will be arranged? Thanks.

You may be right but 13th January is a Sunday. It has been reported on RTE and in a couple of the papers that the fixtures meeting is on Wednesday 16th January in Sofia.

....the fixtures meeting, booking a cheap flight to Italy will be a gamble, due to their rotation system for home games.Rome Milan , Naples Palermo, take your pick and you could still be wrong.Anyone with some knowledge of the likely venue?

Personally I am just going to book a cheap flight into Italy anywhere and worry about getting to the match venue when the ground is confirmed

The train system in Italy is good enough that flying to Rome will leave you only a few hours away from wherever the game is on.

Yeah, was looking at a map of Italy last night and I think i'll do that myself so I can get it sorted early and out of the way.
I'm slightly concerned about Georgia though, that would be tricky if the meeting sees us play that fixture as part of a double header. I'm thinking I might have to break my own rules and see what the travel agents will be offering for that trip.

Except for when it took me eight hours to get from Rimini to Rome because the connecting train was two hours late and we lost another hour en route. :(

Hopefully it is as reliable as the 12.25 Bratislava to Prague:rolleyes: and there is some ticket inspector ensuring we do not have to stand for 5 and a half hours by also ensuring people who are in your seat with no ticket is f**ked off:D

It might be no harm to edit this post to reflect the wrong dates in Sept.
