Heres why rugby is no threat to irish football.
Think there was 28k at Landsdowne Rd for the ERC Final last saturday.
So desparate were the organisers to boost the attendance that they gave away free tickets. I heard of someone last week given 60 free stand tickets & be surprising if he the only one.

GWA and Colm got four each. There big rugby fans. Colm even went to the semi final against toulouse in france but dont tell anyone
Believe it or not, a complete f*cking moron related to me tried to give me free tickets to the sh*te..:rolleyes: :confused: :D

28k? When was the last time there was 28k for a club soccer match in this country - with an irish team playing?

You can't really compare Ac Milan/Juventus with Perpignan/Toulouse.
I thought it was a good attendance. The ERC have done a great job promoting the tournament and getting huge crowds. Soccer in this country should be taking a leaf out of thier book not dismissing them as no threat.
Don't disagree that we could do with some of the PR people from the IRFU, but at the same time it is the top club match in europe, regardless of the teams - the football equivalent would sell out regardless of who was in it...
