Got to within 26km for the Blarney Stone. Have only now realised that I had no idea where the Easter Islands actually are :o

Level 9 on my first go, IQ of 108 and 34113 in the round when I needed 35000:mad:

Helped with Galway, 6km from Pretoria and 12km away from Rabat.

Showed I hadn't really a clue distinguishing Singapore/Vietnam/Cambodia/Thailand area apart. And hopelessly guessed for places in Mexico.

Schumi

IQ was 122 , just found that bit.

I missed some place in Alaska by 4,000 km odd too, clicked in the middle of the US to hedge my bets. :o

Got to level 11 on my second go. I never heard any of the cities and basicall you have to hit and hope. These cities in Australia and Russia where you could be 10000 kilometres out.

Less than 1000 points shy of level eleven on first go the dastards

My African geography is shocking though.

Just click around the west of it, full of little countries :)

Was within 10km of Yerevan but was 400 and something shy of Dallas  :p

Also, just how many pointless Pacific Islands can there be?!?!?!

Schumi

Made it to level 12 on my second go with 16 points to spare. Got a load of Russian places though so wasn't even close to getting any further.

Sweet! I'm the best so far!

On first go; flew to level 12 with consummate ease and then dramatically faltered at the last hurdle with a few bogey Russian ones. Score of 565,732, and a satisfying IQ of 132. Nice to see Killarney register in the minds of the makers as a famous place.

I'd like to thank my 6th class geography nut of a teacher who taught us every capital city in the world. Those were the days. :)

Those titbits on most places were highly enlightening. I mean who knew Chad's capital N'Djamena meant 'place of rest', or that the capital of Bhutan and Pyongyang are the only capital cities in Asia not to have traffic lights, truly amazing. ****, I also learned that Dublin, Dubh Linn, meaning 'black pool', was so named because it is the largest and oldest natural treacle (?) lake in Northern Europe. Wowzers!

Just tried to find out WTF a treacle lake is and in my search discovered that there are over 1,000 prostitutes operating in the Dublin area on any given night. Most are women from outside Dublin, apparently. I've also just learned something very valuable for a night out; Women from Dublin are the least likely to become pregnant through casual sex. Women from Meath are the most likely. Finally in this sequence of amazing new facts, Dublin boasts more homosexuals per capita than San Francisco. (that was a copy and paste job, the word 'boast' was not of my choosing)

Volgograd was formally Stalingrad which im sure you must have heard of.
There was a little battle there once.

They had a great team, Rotor (now nearly defunct), who knocked United out of the UEFA Cup in 1995/96 i believe.

Not to be confused with Volvograd which is in Sweden ;)

Just beat it a second time in a row... my countrymen may be ignorant of the world, but ****ing around on Wikipedia looking at places like Mayotte and Reunion's national football teams and then going to their main page has helped me alot (did you know Nauru's national soccer team is the only on to have won all of their matches?)
