So who would you like to see at Limerick37 next season? Lets be realistic here ;). Personally I think we need a new striker (someone who can score goals). Someone like Gorman from Kildare but hes just signed a new contract up there. :(. If we have any realistic chance of doing anything next season the squad needs to be strengtened. Any ideas?

Start with your manager. Managers determine the type and quality of player that signs for any club. Get a manager with ambition, and he will bring players befitting that ambition.

In that case, all we were short in Jackman Park this season was a Big Top and Cannonball.

does not matter what manager you bring in,the budget available will determine everything.given that it looks like the budget will be no where near what ski had available to him a local side seems the only option.i would have estimated ski had up to 4,500 p,w available to him given the transfer signings he brought in......dont think that will be there next season.

Yea but only one of those seven is any good and to get him we'd have to be in comp with Athlone, Harps, SLigo and now Longford where most of them will end up anyway. I doubt there will be any "travelling" players with Limerick next season.

Alan Murphy from Galway would be a good pick. Might solve our problems in front of goals.
He's a good first division striker.

We don't need that many incoming players. Getting Finucane back on track, Robbie Kelleher fit, not releasing Joey Maloney, and a bit of consistency in team selection would have got that squad to the play off at least this season.

Yes but all bar Barry Moran are cack

Alan Murphy from Galway would be a good pick.

Murphy is past it and far more importantly doesn't give a $hit

Moran is about the only fella I'd take if I felt we wanted/needed ex Galway players...............which we don't

Keady is a solid right full, nothing fancy but decent at this level

Neither Maloney or Moran came from Galway :ball:

I thought he was talking about "travelling players" in general, not Galway specifically.

And no see's it, it wasn't a joke.

peter white was very good in the games he played rightfull obviously he was raw but the more games he plays the better he will get.if keady is kept it will limit the games peter will play also keadys wages could be put to better use in other areas of the team where as peters wages would be alot lower

I see the mans point

Peter White hugely improved player over the course of the season

Must be all the extra coaching he's getting below in Mary I  :)

Alan Murphy would be a huge asset in this division to be honest if he made only a vague attempt at applying himself. The whole full-time thing wasn't to his liking in Galway. And he's only 25/26 so it's probably a bit premature to say that he's past it. I'd take him (despite loathing him). :)

Also I'd like to keep Keady around because, to be vaguely diplomatic about it, we have a real shortage of players who are willing to put themselves about a bit. We looked fairly gutless at times this season, esecially when Keady wasn't there.

I meant past it in the past caring sense as opposed to the Padraig Moran sense :)

Of course he would be excellent if he gave a toss

But didn't give a toss on big money at Derry

Didn't give a toss on big money at Galway

Therefore doubt he would give a toss on 80 quid a week at Limerick

Welcome back Btw :)
