what a great nite was had by all. congrats to those who organised it. it was a very professional job . there was some great stories told during the interviewing by tom gorman with the 77 players. also i was very impressed by the short and concise speeches made by michael toolin and paul cooke. the idea to show video footage of all rovers great successes and near misses was excellent. the auction was executed very professionally by rob fitzpatrick and to all the people who bought the goodies fair play to them. a nice bit of cash was raised. i think above all it really hammered home to all that were there what a very special club sligo rovers is and can improve as time goes on with the backing of everbody. i was really taken back by the wonderful comments made by the 1977 players about the warmth and genuine hospitality they felt from the people of sligo during their stay at that particular time.it was great to meet the likes of mick leonard, ski , gary humes ,paul fielding stennie, chris rutherford, fago, pughie etc and of course king billy and lord willie. im sure all the current squod saw the bond between the players and supporters.it was great to see all the trust lads there because they are the link between the past and present and future support. it will live long in the memory. last nite just shows everybody what sligo rovers is about and if we could all sit down togeather (with great hope) we could drive this club forward
over the comming years. thanks lads for a great night

Agree, really special night with great bond between everyone in the room. It is a great credit to the club & esp. the organisers. Would'nt it be great if everyone there bought a season ticket for next year - 400 odd tickets gone by November!! Also 400 club & lotto need support now. Speech of the nite what do people think ?? Fago, Ski, King Billy ??????????

Very good night and great to hear the old stories about the teams years ago. Some of the players seemed to be really interested in hearing it too. Fair play to the organisers, very professional, which is a word not associated with the club too often so definitely a big well done!

Speech of the night? Had to be Fr. Pat Lombard's;).
