Another bad day in Italy. A Lazio fan killed, seemingly accidently by a policeman's bullet, after scuffles between Lazio and Jventus fans at a motorway service station. Inter v Lazio was then called off. Meanwhile in Bergamo, Atalanta fans, threatening to riot because of the death of the Lazio fan, get their game against Milan abandoned after 8 minutes.

Another bad day for Serie A just ten months after the Sicilian derby troubles.

One thing that stood out in all the reports on this.
Shooting a bullet at that height will sure break up a fight alright.
Hope that cop gets the appropriate punishment.

Awful to see. It makes you realise how far things have come in the UK re: hooliganism when you see the scenes over in Italy.

Apparantly the policeman fired the bullet into the air, yet it managed to fly sideways through the car window that the Lazio fan was sitting in  JFK's magic bullet makes it's long awaited return I see

Did he not say he fired one into the air and when he went towards the crowd his gun "accidently" fired into his neck.

Which begs the question what the clown was doing waving a gun around in the first place.

Those fans in Bergamo yesterday had a point IMO

A policeman gets killed and the country shuts down. A fan gets killed and games are delayed for ten minutes

They are just going to have to play games behind closed doors for a period of about half a season and try to weed out the trouble makers from the support base. Or alternatively ban travelling support!

But the troublemakers are the fanbase at a lot of clubs now

Or alternatively ban travelling support
