Well, it's that time of year again, when it has to decided which players to keep and who to let go.

Who would you like us to keep?

Hopefully we can keep Cathal Brady although I've heard some clubs have been sniffing around him. Apparently Darren Stapleton is off though, possibly to Rovers. I hope we can hang onto Stephen Cooling as well.

We probably won't have much money to bring anybody in but if we do, I'd like to see us strengthen the centre of midfield and the centre of defence

Wouldnt like to see many stay except the likes of Stapo, Brady, Gorman, Robinson.

Wouldnt be too hurt to see anyone else go.

Haven't been impressed wth Stephen Cooling Kildarefan but his free kick ability does come in handy. Woulxd lke to see Stapleton and Brady stay but have rumour that both are likely to leave the cllub come the seasons end.

Would like to see Philly Bryne, Austin O' Neill, Colin Cassidy, Barry Clancy, Phily Gorman, Eoin Kavanagh, Eoin Carew stay as well as the above three.

Agree with you kildarefan as well on strengthening the center of midfield and defence

According to the Sun, we've signed Philly Hughes!!

Great player on his day and when he is fit and focused but 2 things

1) can ryaner get the best out of him

2) I presume he is on pretty decent money??? I hope there is money left over to spend on the defence and midfield!!!

He hasnt spoken to Kildare yet from what I have heard. So no signing yet apparently.

Hope he wants to play for us this time, unlike the last few times that he wore our shirt. On his day he is the best goalscorer in the division, and provided that he can keep the pounds off, he would bring the necessary speed that we have been lacking upfront eversince...well... him.

Its certainly a good omen if this is the type of player that we are bringing in.

Lads we have not signed Philly Hughes.

To be honest, I'm not that pushed if we do or don't. He is a top player no doubt but we are ok for strikers, especially if Ger Robinson signs on.

I'd much rather we spent our money on somebody like Paul Shiels who has been released from Shamrock Rovers. He would probably cost a lot in wages but he would vastly improve our midfield. I'd like us to get somebody of that quality for our midfield and somebody similar in defence.

I think I know where Sheilo is going.

I think I know where Sheilo is going.

I think Giller has been in his ear, don't know if that will be his final destination though.

But the point is, if we are going to pay somebody big wages, I hope it's a midfielder or a centre half!!

That may be so but I know where his preferred destination is but depends on a factor or 2.

Some decent players going for free at the moment Micheal Foley is another but I don't think thats ever going to happen either:(

Dundalk have released a host of players that would improve us.

Neil Gallagher, Keith Dunne, Thomas McCauley, James Hand and Stephen Quigley would be massive improvements for us and more importantly, they are in positions that we need strengthening.

Robbie Doyle and Philly Hughes (think he is signing for Shels) would be risky signings but could prove worthwhile.

Will we ever show some ambition :-(

Problem is can the club afford them kildarefan?. There are alot of decent players going for free at the moment Shamrock rovers released a good few as well as did St. Pats who are going full time.

Most of these players I imagine though won't want to travel to far away form dublin leaving Kildare County, Dundalk and Shamrock Rovers their only options when its come to part time sides. So there could be some interesting signings yet, I'm hoping anyway.

Can we afford not to??????

If we spend what we did last year or if as i am hearing even less, i guarantee we won't finish any higher than we did this year and crowds will be even smaller if that's possible.

We'll only get bigger crowds when we have a decent team doing well but has anything been done to try get more funds in for the team? Any fund raising ideas? anything????

Yeah thats true if the club is to get any further it will have to up the player budget but I don't think the board want to risk the clubs future either. I would love to see more ambition.

But like I said with there now being less part time outfits near Dublin and Shamrock Rovers sweeping up the best from Pats amd releasing a good few there may be some who will lower their demands and join.

Our budget was the second smallest if not the smallest in the division last season from what I heard.I also heard that there may even be further cuts but I'm hoping this is false. :(.

The supporters club did a good bit of fund raising for the club last season in the form of everyone a winner ticket sales and the table quiz which went very well, the club had the race night which was excellent but the 70's night less so probably because it was on a Thursday night. They also had plans for a dogs night with a special guest but that unfortunaelty fell through:(.

If you have any suggestions regarding fund raising feel free to pm myself, philly or dapman1 and also the AGM will be in Feburary and all are welcome to come along whether you are a member of the Supporters club or not.

I believe the club have a few ideas on advertising and promoting the club throughout the county, which could improve attendances hopefully.

Watch this space...
