This is taken from BBC's 606 forum.

some transfer rumours for all the bluemen and bluewomen out there. probably a pack of lies though but there are some interesting rumours flying around at the minute. the first set are the players we are supposidly looking to bring in, in january. these are some of the rumours today:

IN

1. pat mccourt is lookin to leave derry city but while drogheda are favourites to sign him hes been seen talking to board members from linfield and shaking hands.

2. big davy is looking to sign stephen carson from colraine.

3. we are also looking to sign the young winger from glanavon. his name is murray and he has put some great performances in for the lurgan blues.

4. linfield are looking at newry city's young star richard clarke. supposidly he would be interested in a move to the blues.

5. we have had scouts out looking at lisburn distilery star andy waterworth. the young attacker has been the whites player of the season so far and a number of clubs including ourselves are looking at him.

6. we are on the lookout for a new keeper and have set out sights on larne goalkeeper chris keenan. he is a great shot stopper and is one of the irish leagues young stars.

the next set of rumours are linfield players who could be on their way out:

OUT

1. ballymena united are preparing a bid for thomas stewert. the sky blues are looking to bolster their attack.

2. damien curran could be going out on loan just after the blues have signed him. he hasn't impressed since arriving from newry in the summer.

3. newry have asked can they have linfields young star steven garrett on a permenant basis. garrett hasn't stopped scoring since going out on loan although david jeffery is keen on having him back once his loan spell comes to an end.

4. tim mccann is becoming increasingly frustrated at the lack of first team opportunities. he is set to have showdown talks with linfield manager david jeffery in the coming weeks.

there are quite a few rumours there but im sure alot of them are not true but i wouldn't be surprised to see a few of these rumoured palyers joining in january. so what do you think?

Why are you looking for a new keeper ?Is Mannus on the way out?

Pablo

Why would Pat McCourt sign for a part time club/League?

Linfield have full time players though

Why would Pat McCourt sign for a part time club/League?

We have full-timers(7) at our club.

Also although our league isn't the strongest, Linfield is a very prestigious club to play for on this island.

We also do alright against you lot down their to. So it's hardly rocket science.

Can't see Pat McCourt in a blue shirt but would love it. His fitness and attitude is suspect though.

Andy Waterworth has already been mentioned in the Sunday Life however it was rubbished by Distillery.

Stephen Carson isn't in DJ's plans.

Eamonn Murray played for us before joining Glenavon, he just signed an extension with Glenavon so we'd have to pay for him, can't see that happening.

DJ has put faith into McKendry so I can't see Keenan at Windsor.

Clarke would probably be at Windsor if he could play left midfield.

If anyone comes in for Stewart I think he'll be away.

Curran could be valuable in the Setanta so I can't see him going anywhere.

Garrett will probably remain at Newry.

Don't care about McCann weather he stays or goes, he's not very useful.

Rumours at Mourneview last night that both Jamie Mulgrew and Jim Ervine are increasingly frustrated at their lack of opportunities recently.

Why's that?

Do you really believe Linfield would be able to afford the large transfer fee and his rather large wages. He is also very happy here and is settled. Why would he want to up sticks, move to a mainly part-time club when he is on full-time wages?

In the immortal words of the Brand Newe Heavies : 'Dream on, Dreamer....."

The comedy McCourt rumour aside - why is Ireland's self-styled biggest club apparently only looking within the Irish League for new recruits ? Fishing in a very small pond there.

The rumour is that he is not settled at Derry City - I cannot vouch for the accuracy of that rumour.

If the player was available, I'm quite sure Linfield FC would be interested in talking to him.

Regarding the transfer fee/wages, I don't see a problem.

Linfield FC currently have seven players on "full time" wages - some of whom are not regulars in the first team, and who may be on their way in the January window - thus freeing up funds.

Whilst Linfield FC may be a "mainly part time club" at present, they are progressive.

They are also one of this islands premier clubs.

Because he wants to play for a club that wins more than a league cup. ;)

You cant be mainly part-time, your either full-time or part-time, the fact that your coaches and the maajority of your players have full-time jobs pretty much leaves the 7 players on full-time wages as meaningless except

Linfield should really make the plunge (as bohs, $hel$ and pats did to kick start it down in dublin) and see how it pans out for a season or two? Or save the waisted money on the 7 players and have everyone part-time,
Its probably not worth it at present as there really isnt much competition.

as for Pat McCourt moving to linfield :D:D:D

Fair point.

He'd probably win more than that playing on his own in the Irish league....:D

P.S. Says the man who's team had to rely on Newry City being poor at peanlties to get into their own League Cup final this season. Tut, tut..

We can count how many all-ireland titles Derry has won compared to Linfield if you like?

We can compare any trophy count you want. Because Derry have never been a force to be reckoned with at any point in their history. When Derry do well, it is a blip. When they don't do well, it is the norm.

If you stop setting them up I'll stop shooting them down....

Anyways - bar common sense being out and Paddy McCourt not being in, I think you should let the thread return to the topic of the Windsor Park revolving door...

In which case you'd have him for a quarter of a game....!

Seriously though - he'd be wasted playing against the likes of Limavady, Larne and Armagh every week....

I could say the same about him being wasted playing in an underachieving side like Derry City.

You could, but as he doesn't play against Derry City every week then you'd just look like a tool if you did say it.

Oh wait.....!
