I've already said Gravesen was awful at Cletic. No question there. But IMo he was probably the best midfielder in England the year before he went to madrid, and believe me I said it at the time. One of the most underrated players in a long, long time. Who I'll say again was rubbish in the SPL.
I think Brown's a fine player, but he's nowhere near the level Gravesen was 3/4 years ago and IMO won't be. Good luck to the lad though, I've nothing against him and he seems a decent bloke.
Popular misconception by people that dont support Everton that Graveson was ever any good I couldnt believe that real wanted him and it didnt really bother me that he left his spell at Everton was basically 4 years of rubbish headless chickenness followed by a brief good spell (4 months )when Carsley covered up his failings in a 5 man midfield and then off to madrid. Since he has been back he has done very little.
I have only watched celtic 3 or 4 time this year but from what ive seen of Brown he is a lot better than TG i expect him in the premiership along with the keeper come the summer .

Hibs4Ever
Brown is a CLASS player. IMO he's the best midfielder in Scotland
Won't be long til he's in the Premiership.
:)
So I take it that Scott Brown must have spent some time at Hibs.

You don't have a clue about the guy, I'm sorry. It was the "speed and control" thing that confirmed that. Anyone that has seen a fair bit will know that one of his main strengths is running with the ball from midfield and his good speed and control is pretty obvious.
All well and good against Buckfast Thistle and St.Johnswell
For a 22 year old he's a very sensible chap. His energy is unbelievable, he hassles the opposition as much as anyone and is regularly getting booked.
Runs around way, way too quickly making stupid decisions........
This one isn't even up for debate. Brown certainly does have "good speed and ball control".
All well and good against Buckfast Thistle and St.Johnswell
Even compare him to someone like Ryan Babel and he's not even the same species
What's your limits? Make the criteria and I'll put a serious bet down if you want.
Make it at a major European club in the next five years. Big Four in England, Spain or Italy
You know the wager. All the tea
No, no, no. Thomas Gravesen is all energy brainless footballer. Brown is very, very intelligent.
LMFAO at this piece of absolute nonsense
Gravesen in his prime was on a level Scott couldn't reach if he was beamed up
Well I can't really argue this with you because you don't like McGeady either but just look at the changes in McGeady's game to see Strachan's strengths.
That should read don't "rate" McGeady, don't "rate"
He's a fantastic coach. Robbie Keane reckons he's the best manager he worked under. He's not a world class manager but in terms of coaching he knows exactly what he's doing.
Name me a half dozen players Wee Gordon has coached from nothing to being top drawer
LOL at Robbie Keanes opinion being gospel btw
I could name 1000 players more talented than Gattuso too.
What in the name of God does that have to do with how highly you rate Scott Brown??
Anyway, get back to me about this bet.
You heard me. All the tea.
btw - While you're incredibly biased against Celtic this is purely about ability to judge a player.
Where do you pull this LTiD hates Celtic drivel from??
Is it because I said they are not a left wing club?? (They're not)
Is it because I don't support the national team??
I think Celtic's defenders are absolutely rubbish.
Well D'uh
The reason I'm bringing up this talk of bias is because of your mention of Naka and McGeady
I'll be proved right about both of them aswell ;)

Bobo Balde at his peak was seriously a real class act. He's still one of the most brainless players in the business though. He just had Johan Mjallby to lead him.
Bobo Balde was a mullocker who constantly got found out on a higher stage
Gravesen is tactically inept and if he had the fantastic football brain would no doubt have been world class (he's some passer!).
A tactically inept, brainless, superb passer??
Answers on a postcard folks...........

Lim til I die, I don't see much point continuing when you feel the need to shift the goalposts and compare a 'rubbish' player to the most exceptional young talents in the game, and give Milan and Spain as examples of the majority of the teams this rubbish player wouldn't be an important member of.
Where do you draw the line for someone who rates him as highly as yourself??
Should I say Wrexham and Azerbaijan??
Celta Vigo and Saudi Arabia??
You're the one who brought up the majority (Speaking of goalpost shifting....)
You do realise of course that the vast, vast, majority of football clubs are rubbish and would as such welcome a mediocrity like Scott right?? :)

LTiD wins by TKO in the middle of the second round.

At the moment I'd say Spurs, Villa that range. It's harder to say internationally, but given his performances against France and Ukraine he seems well capable of playing on that stage.
You knock me out too by the way. Anyone who thinks that to disprove that a player is rubbish the player needs to make it at one of the major European teams flummoxes me to point of unconsciousness.....thankfully though my friend just threw water on me there in the nick of time to save me from your spell. :)

We were talking about five years down the line were we not?? (hope your friend is giving you a hand moving all those goalposts or you're going to need more water soon)
I will grant you that my "Rubbish" branding of him was a bit flippant as is my want on these boards at times :)
Lets just settle on "mediocre numpty the likes of whom have been ten a penny at the Old Firm down through the years and will never do nothing at a big club in a big league"
If Scott Brown was a big, promising talent he would have been signed by a bigger club.
Don't worry, I'm sure he'll go on to be a Celtic legend :ball:
