i think the league cup is the perfect way to get people interested in the club again, its there for the taking, just like in england i don't think the bigger clubs are taking it very seriously so we should go for it. a trophy in the cabinet at the end of the season is what its all about and we should go for this big time !!!!

I agree, with not many other clubs taking it seriously, if we reach a domestic Cup Final, interest in following the Town will spark a new wave of interest i reckon. And itll give us the confidence to move up the league table.Yeah i say go for it.

Very true...i think UCD should look at it the same way and see if we can get a draw or possibly even win a game in this event :p

lets face it we should beat athlone next week and then we are only two are three matchs away from a trophy, a senior trophy for the club, that would mean the world to me as a town supporter

Our best ever performance in the League Cup is 3 quarter final apperances-isnt it about time we went a long way. Just imagine the crowds for a two legged encounter home and away to see the chance of a trophy.
Last night, the town performance was okay. Mulvihill scored with an overhead after 2 mins, Dempsey made a cockup kicking the ball with his hand,he hit it low and Philip Hughes. Tom Silke scored from close range and Kieran Foley scored from outside the box with the help of a defelceion(definitely a Town player).
Station Road is alovely setup, the pitch and surroundings reminds me of our own abbeycarton,they have a clubhouse and bar and even plates on walls specifying charimans,secerarty parking spaces.
Plus we were caught in a thunderstorm! Reminds me of Incicore 3 years ago,
