Not a transfer rumour I know, but Colm Foley of Pats forced to retire through injury at just 28. Shame. Thats the legendary Foley/Maguire partnership both gone from Pats. The prospect of Davy Rogers and Stephen Paisley at centre half doesn't do much for the old blood pressure.

Read in one of the college papers yesterday that Derry have bid for Quigley and Bermingham. Mahon was quoted as saying they only offered €5,000 for Quigley

Haven't seen too much of Quigley to be honest apart from a penalty save and a blooper for a McHugh goal two seasons back.

Why haven't one of the Dublin clubs signed him? Something tells me he 'aint all that'. Happy enough to see Mad Gerry Doc is close to joining us though!

I've heard rumours of Quigley to Bohs as Murphy's backup.

Heard those rumours too, but don't see why he'd be happy to sit on the bench, to be honest.

Was he not doing that at U.C.D. behind Gregg a lot of the time?

Yes and no. Started off first choice, got injured (apparently, though he was never out of the squad) and then won his place back for he last half of the season. All in all, he played 25 of our 41 games last season. If he stays, I'd expect him to start the season as No 1 again.

Good shot stopper who's prone to Titus Bramblesque errors at times. From what I've seen of him anyway

Has had a harsh last 10 months as a player, hopes he does well for the season (except 3 games against ramblers)
