Without doubt Longford's pitch was the worst pitch on view, including Finn Park and whitehall...

Lavine's chances looked good, he has to push into the box more... Same with Francis, he laid a class ball onto Lavine... The midfield is still my worry and as pointed out in Flansiro.net , Reynolds and colwell played into our hands...

pitch was horrible looking alright. That chance where the ball bounced horribly away from Lavine was such a waste

What is the story with the pitch? Can it not be watered and rolled or something?? It was plain to see saturday night that the players had trouble passing with any confidance. I lost count on the times the ball was misscontrolled because of the pitch. We are a football/passing team or at least we were, but now the long ball seems the safer option for fair of giving it away!
We are losing points because of this and as supporters we deserve better.

What did happen to the Flancare pitch this year?

In previous years it was one of the better eL pitches...

As far as I know, it reminds me of Buckley Park in kilkenny a couple of years back. They hosted a under 21 match held in atrocious conditions and the pitch totally dug up as aresult. The town could not repair the pitch when the Ireland england underage pitch was on. Aparently according to yesterdays papers, a load of worms is expected soon onto the pitch.
If we keep like this, we will be in seriois problems perhaps relegation wise.

in fairness since the season has started all the publicity we have received has been bad. both on eircom league weekly and in the tabloids. the pitch is by far the worst in the league at the moment. hopefully we can get our act together soon both on and off the pitch

In fairness, the pitch looks like it's come on in leaps since the opening day - that was like Longford beach, which is just confusing...

Has to be a fanzine article there somewhere?:)
