Hi there,

Are you going to the 25th anniversary dinner tomorrow night?

What is the programme of events?

Cheers.

Nope, it was priced to keep away the riff-raff such as myself :D
Suits & ties and all the rest of it not my thing really.
Hopefully it'll raise a bit of cash for the club, what with another 2 grand needed :(

Im not going either. 85 euro per ticket is out of my League. Plus the hiring of the suit etc.... etc..... Dont get me wrong I would gladly contribute that sort of money to the club if they needed it but as Kev just said suits and ties just aint my thing ;)

Anyone know who will be there then despite the obvious players getting the awards, any big names???

I don't think there'll be many fans there because of the pricing. The pricing is understandable from a corporate perspective and to raise funds, but they still could have offered tickets/tables seated at the back to fans or Supporters Club members at a non-corporate rate. This wouldn't have affected the take up of the over-priced tables. They'd probably have gotten a lot more tables and a nice turnout had they done this. The black tie wouldn't have bothered me at all!

From Ger Finnin's latest "update" email :

"The club held it’s first corporate function on the 2nd Nov to honour the 1982 FAI cup winning team, this was a superb evening with over 200 people in attendance at Limericks Hilton hotel. All bar 2 of the 82 team were present and the two were unavoidably absent. The event was very well received and shows once again that the club can tap into a rich vein of support across a range of generations indeed it was amazing to see Des Kennedy explaining his two goals against Real Madrid to this years under 21 players giving them a taste of their future with the club."

Now I'm all for optimism but really... :D
