Waterford United will face Galway United at the RSC on Friday evening (KO: 7.45pm) knowing that a point will keep the Blues from automatic relegation. However what is far more important is getting out of the play-off spot and three points will be vital in clambering to safety. Goal Difference is against United so points on the board is the main priority for the team Gareth Cronin is hopeful of having Vinny Sullivan back for the game after the striker was forced out of last Friday’s clash with Drogheda just moments before kick-off when he picked up a thigh injury. However, Karl Bermingham, who replaced Sullivan in the starting line-up last Friday, is back on the treatment table with a recurrence of the ankle injury that had kept him out of the side for over a month.

“Training has been very upbeat this week and that comes from a team that has been playing well in recent weeks," Cronin told waterford-united.ie. "We are looking for our fifth game unbeaten and I think the lads are up for the game. This is make or break, just like every other game over the past few weeks and the players all know it. It’s one more cup final and everybody is ready to give it 100% again on Friday. The way the results have been going, nobody knows how this season is going to finish so it is up to each and every team to go out there and play their own game, get their own result and forget about the others. Obviously we can do ourselves a huge favour if we can get three points from Galway and naturally that is the target.

“I am disappointed to have Karl Bermingham back on the injury list because he is a huge addition to the team. He was forced into a little more than we both wanted last Friday when Vinny Sullivan got injured just before kick off and he has suffered a reaction as a result.

I would have thought that avoiding automatic relegation would be "far more important" than anything else?

Too right, if Waterford don't do better than Longford tonight it goes to the last game for the automatic spot. So from all in Longford, come on the tribesmen!

Im back on the fence today and predict a draw for tonights game,i do think there might be a few goals, maybe 2-2.waaaaahhhhford physically bossed us in terryland during the summer and so tonight we should be prepared for another physical battle and cope better.i hope we dont play 4-5-1 and park the bus for the last 30mins.

A win for Galway tonight will all but guarantee UCD safety. Good luck.;)

Brilliant night in Waterford great crowd travelled from all over for this one. The singing was excellent and relentless. The match was entertaining too. How did you miss that one Derek!?! Nevermind we are staying up. All the players performed well last night and done us proud.

Great night was had by all .
Singing was top class , did the drums ever stop .
And when I did get home I took my shirt off only to see little bits of maroon paper flutter about about my bedroom I would have laughed if I wasn't so tired .
Last but not least full marks to the section C boys and girls they were great fun to be with , but i look forward to be back in the new stand in Terryland next friday night with my rug to keep my knees warm and my flask of hot coco .

Ah Claret come back to Original stand and make some noise even if it is just for the last game of the season. I hope we get a decent crowd next Friday to finish it out, though I feel that it mightnt be a great attendance seen as were safe.
