Dan Connor, Brian Shelley, Jason Gavin, Garto, Stuey, Eamon Zayed for Drogheda tonight.
Don't want to kill the semi-final buzz or anything.

Although each team are entitled to put out whatever team they see fit I think it's disrespectful and unfair against the other teams in the relegation/playoff battle.

they've done their job this season lads, they've won the league, its not their resposability to look after other teams by putting out there strongest 11 when they have a chance to give some of the fringe players a run.
they wanted to give the rest of their squad a run out, nothing wrong with it imo, allthough i know where ye're coming from

They should put our their strongest team available to make it a level playing field. It would be different if they had to rest them for something but they'll have plenty of time in the off-season for that.

some of them fringe players have played damn all games this season, its only right for the manager to give them a chance, he probably also wanted to see were they good enough to hang onto for next season

All the players that played tonight have got plenty of games this season, I'm sure Doolin knows how good they are.

I know where Doolin is coming from and I know what he'd say, but it's a complete p***er to see it happening. To drop all those defenders in one go is a bit much.
Speaking of job done. Galway are 99% safe now. What chance they'll get turned over at the RSC next week?

i still think there's no problem resting players, and giving other lads a chance UCD rested a few (i think) against cork because they had a cup game coming up, you could say that was unfair to bohs, pats and shams....

Well actually, the rules state......
Weak Teams
18.22 Each Club shall play its full available strength in all competitive games under the jurisdiction of the Committee, unless a satisfactory explanation is offered to the Committee. In the event of the explanation not being satisfactory, the Committee shall have power at its discretion to impose such penalties as it shall think fit.
*“The FAI National League Executive Committee” and the “The Committee” means the FAI National League Executive Committee established under FAI Rules.

We rested five players against Bohs.
I've no problems with what Drogs did. Fringe players need a chance to stake their place in the team.

Just to say best of luck Town. I'll be watching it down the local, the solitary exile...
