Hoops to play Veolia in charity friendly
Luas operator Veolia Transport has organised a charity football game and raffle in aid of the National Children’s Hospital in Tallaght, with Luas drivers taking on a Shamrock Rovers XI at Tolka Park on Sunday, November 11th.

The charity game will be a fun afternoon for the family, and several celebrities will be involved, including boxer Bernard Dunne, Olympic gold medal winner Michael Carrurth, and RTE TV personalities Brian Ormond and Aidan Power.

The ingenious part is that the raffle ticket doubles as a match ticket for the Rovers-Luas game, so it offers fantastic value for only €10. And not only will it raise funds for the hospital – it can win the purchaser a great prize!

1st prize in the raffle is a Ford Ka 1.3l car donated by Veolia Transport, 2nd prize is a Sony Bravia 32” HD Tv, 3rd prize is a Gents Movado Watch and 4th prize is a trip for two to either a Celtic or Sunderland game.

€10 raffle and match ticket are available via the Luas Freephone 1800 300 604 or by logging on to www.luas.ie - so it couldn’t be easier! The raffle draw takes place at the charity match between Shamrock Rovers and Veolia Transport football team in Tolka Park, Sunday November 11th (KO 3pm).

Kevin Kavanagh, Luas driver and organiser of the raffle and charity match says: “Get a raffle ticket for family and friends and help the hospital help sick children.Your raffle ticket also permits you entry to the charity match against Shamrock Rovers, so ring today Luas Freephone 1800 300 604 and support the children.”

Shamrock Rovers captain Aidan Price agrees: “It’s great to be able to do something for such a worthy cause,” he says. “It also shows that Shamrock Rovers is very much a community club.”
