Anyone going tonight?

So far it's myself Gael 353, John D and Damien O'Neill.

Will we have enough for a crowd this time?;)

Any one got a report on the match? A goal for Sugrue - they're coming from all the over the pitch this season - just not enough of them. Another case of not having the rub of the green?

At least Deise you got a chance to have some blaas again :)

Blues hold off Limerick revival

Waterford United 2-1 Limerick FC
Jimmy McGeough’s Waterford United continued their good start to the season with a League Cup victory over First Division Limerick FC at the Regional Sports Centre on Tuesday night, although it was far from plain sailing for the Premier Division newcomers.

Waterford have now taken four wins from six games this term, their only slip-ups coming against last season’s Premier Division top two, Bohemians and Shelbourne.

And after an opening half an hour of sparring, they sauntered into a two-goal half-time lead against the visitors.

Alan Reilly grabbed his fourth goal of the season in the 34th minute, and Daryl Murphy followed up eight minutes later after visiting keeper John Healy was unable to hold onto a shot from distance by Kevin O’Brien.

Limerick fought back resolutely after the break, and gave themselves a chance of a point when Irish underage international James Sugrue – signed just last week from the Kerry League – slammed the ball to Gavin Morris’s net from outside area after being set up by Fran Browne.

But Waterford, who field several fringe and under-21 players, held on as Limerick pushed forward in search of a redeeming goal.
