Archive TV footage?

Anyone know if you can get some league of Ireland archive (70's/80's) footage from the FAI on dvd?

I heard about someone who got 70's highlights from RTE but he had a long battle to get the dvd

My own personal experience wasn't great. Tried to get coverage of Town's game with AC Milan, but they only had a few minutes worth. I even had help from the FAI who put me in touch with people who were happy to help me out, they just plain didn't have it.
