Ads showing a few goals with details of upcoming fixtures and a Brian Kerr voiceover were being shown on Setanta tonight. Hats off, a fine effort. Pity the FAI wasn't doing a similar tv campaign.

If you happen to be being bankrolled by a multi-millionaire...
Ads showing a few goals with details of upcoming fixtures and a Brian Kerr voiceover Is that the Brian Kerr of Sky Sports News fame?

Some of the Setanta Sports promos for EL are top quality, even the stuff within their programmes are as good as anything Sky Sports do.
If you happen to be being bankrolled by a multi-millionaire...
Yep. You say it like its a bad thing?

I hope the FAI were watching. That's how you promoted the league. Hopefully other clubs will do the same. I was just wondering, do Setanta have the rights to host a eircom League review show? They have for the SPL, Dutch, French, German & the English non-league. All excellent shows. I'd imagine if they did they'd do it.

Yeah, according to UCD fans, your not supposed to have multi-millionaire's backing a club.
You're only supposed to raise money through bingo nights and raffle tickets in the Eircom League ;)

I see the eircome league are doing the 'Get into it Banner' on the Independent.ie website. Its basic but its a first and a step in the right direction.

Yeah being millions in debt to property developers is the future.
Yeah being millions in debt to property developers is the future.
Not the clubs' fault that property developers turn out to be extraordinarily skilled in the dark art of bingo playing.

That's a bit rich coming from someone who supports a club that can't even raise enough money through the likes of bingo and raffles to pay its bills
Millionaire's are the future of football in Ireland. Without them, it's doomed to failure.

Yep, sure we'll just find 22 of them...or maybe 66 (three for each club)...and then of course there's the A League...
The eL managed without millionaires. It'll manage without them (except those clubs stuck with huge contracts). They're not the sole future.
They're not the sole future.
They're not the worst problem we face either. What do you want him to spend his money on? Wages?

No, if he wants to spend it on TV ads, best of luck to him.
Just for us poor country bumkin cousins without a millionaire, I don't think TV ads constitute a "Reasonable price".

Compared to the price it would be for another company to advertise in that time slot it was reasonable, it was on between a CL game 2 weeks ago. Usually prime time advertising for men with money aged between 18 and 39 as noone else counts :D

.......and very obvious that he is not as au fait with his own clubs' workings based on that comment as he's like us to think he has :D

Millionaires aren't a problem as long as its philantropic and not a cynical property snatch or something that's unsustainable except for a few years. Now I don't know what Kelleher's long term intentions are but no harm can come of TV ads. Good idea.

Our own club's workings?
We have a mere few thousandaires helping us out.
Spread around though, so losing one won't upset the applecart. And we've no ground to get sold from under us.

What do you have?
A school sponsored football team? Hardly something to crow about.
You support your old schools team so do i and i hope Moyle Park PPFC team does well every season, and i am glad that they own the pitch that the team play on.

You are always quick to have a go at how other clubs operate and in this instance, the ads that St Pats are running on Setanta.
The response you gave annoyed me, not the content but the implication that money was being wasted with Kelleher being flahulach.
You don't know how much the campaign cost to put together or cost yet felt the need to comment so.
On the other hand I guess and it's a very good guess that you are unaware of your own clubs' proposed media spend

He is always quick to have a go as he is safe, he knows as long as the school runs his club for him and they dont get relegated he can judge other clubs as long as he wants.
its like supporting a g14 club the safety given from them means you can always look down on the EL as your club is better, richer and will win **** ™
