Bohs are on a role with Mansaram in good form. We did win last Fri but the performance was by no means acceptible. The way we played after going down one was good but that should be how we aim to play for 90mins. I still reckon we could get something from the game however cos we do have a pretty mean defence. We should be aiming to finish above UCD at this stage and there is every chance that we will do just that.

I was at their last home game against Sligo and although they won 3-0 i wasnt altogether impressed to be honest. If they lose in the league cup final tomorow i think we will be playing them at a perfect time.

Nah, this is definetly good for us. Long trip up there and back with extra time and it looks like more than a couple of the bohs players think sean connor is a *****.

and for some reason he started with Hunt on the bench. Think there is a great chance of a United win, that is a divil of a trip they had and ends their run of 3 wins on the trot. We should be aiming to win next two games, away to Bohs and Bray

We should but considering we've won the least games in the whole League i can't see us getting 2 wins on the road.

Would love to be the Club responsible for Sean Connor getting spat at and barraged by abuse after their humiliating 4-0 defeat to UTD,in which Barry Moran grabbed a hatrick and Philip Reilly's speculative 40 yard volley was a contender for goal of the millenium..:)

And that is my point, it is just not good enough, but too many have set the bar very low and will be delighted to finish 10th. The point has been made before, but look at Pat Scully, said in March he wanted to win the league. Oh how people laughed . . but look where they are

You'd still be complaining that Tony should get the boot because neither of them should have been near the team! ;) :p

I think we've a great chance of getting a result on Friday as I'd say Bohs might rest a few players.

Low standards-Low League Position. Not good enough.

Keith Kelly said as much on Tuesday.....if we stay up or not a serious evaluation of the players and management needs to be carried out.

The only person who seems to love Sean Connor is Sean Connor.

When he was manager of Sligo, and having a pretty good season, their fans were always giving out about him on foot.ie

Some of them even travelled to Longford v Bohs a few months ago just to boo him.

We didn't travel to Longford to "just to boo him". We've gone to a few Longford Town games when it didn't clash with Rovers games. Not just cos Sean Connor was there. Of course we abused him while we were there though, it's only natural:).

:D.my prediction is 1-1 or 1-0 to us.i really think we can get a result as bohs might have their sights on the cork cup game and might be tired from tuesday night and we should have beaten them earlier in the season.if we play the ball down the wings again like we did in the second half last friday night then we will have a good chance.russell,o.halloran,robson and o.brien in midfield would be good.
will o.flynn be back?

Preview from the offical Bohs website www.bohemians.ie

Bohs seek to bounce back against Galway
Bohemians must put the disappointment of Tuesday night's League Cup Final defeat in Derry behind them and concentrate on securing three vital league points when they square up to the Tribesmen in Dalymount Park on Friday evening. Though the Gypsies were undone at the Brandywell in extra-time, the team and management must pick themselves back up and concentrate on matters at hand to emerge from a potentially tricky tie against the Westerners with the full reward. Galway have already frustrated Bohemians in Dalymount by taking a point from their hosts at the beginning of the season. With every result now crucial in the race for league positions, Bohs will be hoping to avert a repeat of that one all draw in the first series of games.

Bohemian's manager, Sean Connor, admitted his disappointment after the final in Derry but views the match against Galway as an opportunity to bounce back straight away. "It's going to be a difficult game for the players after Tuesday night but we have to move on and concentrate on this match. The league has always been our main priority and we can't afford to feel sorry for ourselves ". Bohemians are still very much in the hunt for a european placing in the league, lying only three points off third placed Shamrock Rovers and St. Patrick's Athletic. Both those sides face tough fixtures this week-end so there is every motivation for the Gypsies to get back to winning ways.

Bohs must do without the services of regular left full back Dessie Byrne who serves the first instalment of a two match ban for reaching 12 disciplinary points this season. Darren Mansaram hobbled off injured in the Brandywell following a collision with a Derry player and he must be rated an injury concern for this game. On a positive note, two absentees from the squad in Derry will be making their re-appearance. Full back Mark Rossiter has served his one game suspension and the cup-tied Chris Turner will most likely return to the heart of midfield for this league fixture. Long term injury victim, Harpal Singh, was on the bench in Derry as was Neale Fenn, who had been struggling with an ankle injury.

Bohemians gave a solid display in the Brandywell and were only undone by a rocket from Kevin McHugh in the ninety eighth minute. Despite defeat, little more could have been asked of the team. There may have been some tired legs in the camp on Wednesday morning, but the squad is larger than last season and the players should need little motivation to get back to winning ways. Galway were many bookies favourites for the drop this year. The Tribesmen, under former gypsy, Tony Cousins, have done well to defy the odds on their return to the premier division. They sit nine points above bottom side, Longford town, who they beat two-one last week. They also have a four point cushion on second from bottom, Waterford United. Galway will be hoping to secure their top-flite status as quickly as possible and build for next season.

Would be great to add to Bohs week of woe and set us up for Bray game next week, two wins and safe as houses, then let the analysis commence

you will be waiting awhile for those post match celebrations! Was talking to a few that were there last night ad we were abysmal. Ive just read the Tribune today and Keith Kelly mentions the fact that Cousins' P45 could be coming soon. We have tactically inept all season bar a few reasonably good performances, team selection and positions have been at odds. Its now time to start seeking a "world class manager" but not in the style of the infamous John Delaney. I have nothing against Tony but he doesnt seem to be up to the task.

exiled_gufc_fan

Tactics were not all that great last night - I'm not sure Vinny Faherty was the best option as the lone striker for the first hour or so. The five man midfield wasn't doing too badly though for stretches of the game.

But we didn't take it to Bohs enough - when we finally did we actually looked like scoring (after the triple substitution). Before that I did not see where we were going to get a goal from other than maybe a corner kick.

Robson was very frustrated at times sitting a few rows in front of me. Good to see the passion in the lad even when he's not playing. Reading into his exasperated gestures a few times in the second half I got the impression he felt he would have been a better option- if so hopefully he'll be fit and prove it next week!

As for the linesman with the zig-zag vision and the Buttimer v O'Brien sequel of the sequel .... don't get me started.

Terry

Why a 5 man midfield? Bohs were after playin 120mins on tuesday, a 5hr bus journey back and were missing a few regulars and we go out with a lone Junior striker up front?

Robson is the best signing along with Fitz. He is full of passion and is definitely going places.

Buttimer is a crap ref and colourblind.

we played 4/4/2 with Murphs totaly out of the game from the 1st minute. We need 11 committed players on the field at all times and there were two or three who gave up after Bohs Scored.

We were always in the game until they got the 2nd goal but we need 11 fighting for their lives and one or two players need to have a long hard look at themselves.

On a side note we had very poor support in dalymount last night credit to those who travelled but we are trying to stay out of the playoff place and we need fans to show their commitment as well.

It was a very poor performance to be honest. We could have been 2 or 3 down at half time. Second half when we attacked bohs abit after the 3 subs they were rattled but they hit us with a goal on the break in the end. Its a pity because i think they were there for the taking. Some of the players seemed to relax after the win against Longford last week. There was no one making any effort to support the strikers and some of the team selection was strange.
