UCD: Cork City (H) Derry (A) Longford (H), Bohs (A) Pats (H) Galway (A)
Galway: Bohs (A) Bray (A) Derry (H) Waterford (A) UCD (H)
Bray: Cork City (H) Derry City (H) Galway (H) Longford (A) Drogs (A) Sligo (H)
Waterford: Longford (A) Sligo (A) Drogs (H) Galway (H) Shamrock Rovers (A)
Longford: Waterford (H) UCD (A) Bray (H) Bohs (A) Derry (H)
Key games for us. 3 off Galway and at least 1 off Longford should see us safe on 31 points. Anything else would be a bonus.

Unfortunately events at the X last night afterwards turned very nasty. It seems at least 2 city supporters were hospitalised (one of whom is mentally handicapped) and 7 fans arrested according to reports here http://www.ccfcforum.com/forum/City-Fans-Attacked-t20798.html&pid=382280&st=40#entry382280
A lot of different reports but no doubt some very serious clashes and injuries incurred. Really hard as a witness (while sitting in a car) to a group of 12 rovers fans crossing the road to kick 2 city fans heads in to refrain from the calling rovers fans scumbags. They certainly have a fairly large selection of adult men willing to act like bebo warriors.

Longford-Waterford is the big game - if Longford don't win, they're down. Don't fancy Waterford to win a play off though.
going on what I seen of the 2 teams (and with longford at home), I cant see waterford getting anything out of this game !

Same here. Wateford are a good bit worse than the teams around them and I hope it's them that go down purely because they will have the lowest actual points total. I can see Dundalk winning the playoff against either team though.

Bit harsh. If Longford do better than them, it's by racking up huge debts, which is hardly to be encouraged.

Just watched the highlights of the Bohs - Pats game again, and I have to say Brian Murphy is hilarious in how he makes every save look like it's world class. Can he not hold a ball?
Ryan is far better imo
That's one of the most hilarious posts yet seen on foot.ie, despite the competition. Murphy is a class act, with undeniable ability.
Do you think Barry Ryan letting the ball through his legs was more authentic? :D
Or perhaps Murphy dropping an easy enough ball 3 yards from his goal?
I'm a neutral in this game so it's an unbiased opinion.
No doubt he's good, just not that good :p

Don't know exactly what the situation is but seemingly they have sorted themselves out, unlike Shels this time last year.

Know as much as yourself about it, but from the outside, I can't see what they've done to turn things around. Still much the same squad as last year, for example.

Even as a Rovers' fan I'd acknowledge that Murphy is a good keeper. No Barry Murphy, though.

sure brush is probably in the top 3/4
Not a chance.
Brush is still a fair bit behind Connor, the Murphys, Devine, Ryan, Quigley and with that, I'd still be unsure as to how he would measure up against Willo and Delaney.

I'd take Dick over all of them bar Connor;)

his point blank save against longford in the flansiro at the very start of the season beats anything else that i have seen so far either live or on elw
The standard of keepers in the EL at the moment is actually very very good.
Pretty much every team has a really good keeper or two

I wouldn't write the Blues off just yet. If they can play like they did Friday night for the rest of the season, then they'll be in with a very good shout of staying up. Remember, we were missing quite a few players - David Breen and Dave Mulcahy are always going to be missed, but we still managed to get the win. It should also be noted that as well as missing a penalty, Waterford contrived to miss two sitters, including a one-on-one from about 12 yards
Derry had their chances as well, but this was the first time this season that I've seen Waterford defend from the front as a cohesive unit.
As for a lower points total than Longford, if Waterford win on Monday, they'll be 2 points clear of Longford without their deduction.

True, but i would be very happy with second considering we lost o'donovan, bennett, murphy and fenn and then all the hassle with farrelly and healy, nevermind all the upheaval behind the scenes.
Second place and a Cup win would be superb all things considered
2-1 not sure who scored.
McSweeney had a goal disallowed just before it.
Against the run of play according to our lads. Hopefully we'l hang on

Delighted with the 3 points anyway.
Pity we didn't hit form a few weeks earlier as we really could have been in with a shout then.
I know its still possible but let's face it, it's unlikely. But if the Behanator keeps on banging them in, then who knows!
Can't help feeling that the points we dropped v Galway and Bray have cost us our chance

We had a perfectly good penalty turned down too.
Cork were poor; happy to hoof clear, put ten men behind the ball and timewaste once they went 2-0 up. Think a draw would have been fair - we made all the pressing in the second half bar one or two Cork counters as noted - but that's football. We rested a couple of players, so a decent enough performance really.

Agreed you should have had a penalty but we had a perfectly good goal disallowed for offside. We dominated the first half, you dominated the second but....I thought we still had the better chances in the second half. Kearney (who was crap), in particular, had 2. McWalters header was superb and the best of the three goals.
I don't think UCD got near the City goal in the 1st half. As usual we over did the possession football in the second half by not going for goal when we had opportunities.
Farrelly was my MOTM with superb cross for Colin O'Briens goal & the disallowed McSweeney goal which I thought was harsh.
Behan cannot miss now & has scored in last 6 games which I am told matches a club record.

Dropped our captain and top league scorer.
On reflection, we didn't rest as many players as the pre-match previews were saying. Pete was saying we had a few midweek games coming up (Cork on Monday, Bohs in two weeks), we want to focus on the Cup semi and we want to give a few of the fringe players a run (we've a lot of depth in the squad).

If we play like we did last time we'll definitely win. We'd be in the top 4 if we played like that every week.
