...has drawn some deserved comment on this board in recent times. An interesting piece in today's 'Irish' Examiner states that Arsenal have to withdraw 100,000 shirts already delivered to shops due to a design fault. So we may have a long way to go to match the premiership, but at least here in Cork we know we are on the right road! :D

We're not waiting because of a design fault.
We're waiting for Charlton Ath to reject one of the designs offered to them and we'll get that again.
AFAIK in the case of Arsenal it is only on the gold shirt which Manure copied.

This is what the club said:
AWAY KIT LAUNCH DELAYED
Our Official Kit Sponsor Nike has today released the following statement:
"Due to a slight fault in the neckline on a number of garments, Nike has announced a total recall of the new Arsenal away shirt.
To ensure that Arsenal Football Club and its supporters receive the high quality shirts that they and Nike expect, the shirts will not go on sale on Saturday 4th August as planned.
Nike apologises to all Arsenal fans and would like to assure them that the company is doing everything it can to make the new shirt available as soon as possible."
Arsenal Football Club is very sorry for the delay in the kit launch and apologises for the inconvenience it will cause to our supporters. We would also like to take this opportunity to stress the following points:
We have been advised that the NEW AWAY SHIRT WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE IN ANY OUTLETS UNTIL 18TH AUGUST. Therefore, we advise all supporters who have already ordered the away shirt through Arsenal Football Club to retain their orders with us.
However, if you wish to cancel an order for the away shirt that you have placed with Arsenal Football Club, please do so by contacting us as soon as possible.
Anyone who has placed an order with Arsenal Football Club prior to today and continues with their order for the new away shirt will receive a £5 gift voucher with each away shirt.
Once again, we apologise for the inconvenience caused by this manufacturing problem.

Yeah, I know ours don't have a design fault - other that the actual design! :D
The delay in our case is the usual plodding inefficiency... Anyone remember delays when Adidas were the sponsors?
Interesting, too, from your post Barry's Tea, that in Arsenal's case NIKE apologised to the supporters. We'd be a long time waiting for an apology or even an explanation.

Apparently Le Coq's design team are still mulling over the colour. Early reports suggest red, though. If it's not broken, why fix it, eh lads?
