Is he out of contract at the end of the season? A rumour is that we are signing him along with Sammon for next season.

He's probably out of contract all right - very few of our players are on two year deals - but he's under 23 and with us two years, so there'd be compensation due none the less.

With Crowley, Bolger, Finn, McFaul, King and McDonnell, I think it's inevitable that one or two centre mids are going to move on this season. Any of those six would strengthen most Premier Division squads.

Been with us long enough for a fee though, depending on when he signed pro terms. Dunno if he'd be pushed about a move though. He still hasn't established himself in UCD's midfield, and might get lost in the pack at Derry.

I very much doubt that he would move away from Barcode, sorry Dublin, anytime soon.

Also this (http://www.derrycitychat.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15079) is the source, which also includes someone mentioning that Sammon hasn't signed, which CTID failed to mention. With the way things are the only way we'll no for certain about either situation is when we see who turns up from pre-season training.

A few of our midfielders will be moved on aswell though.

Swap for Ciaran Martyn?

this (http://www.derrycitychat.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=15079) is the sourceThat's OK so, that's about Ronin Finn, he must be from that film with De Niro in it a few years ago. :)

I'd prefer McFaul and King.:)

I don't know where these rumours are coming from. Where do Derry have the money to sign two Irish U-21 internationals on the back of a poor season? If you don't win the League Cup your revenue stream will be cut a fair bit from this season.

Who are you and what have you done with Schumi?

Given the fact they wouldn't pay the €120k for Quigley after a successful season I doubt they will €240k for Sammo and Finn after a poor season.

Some people don't seem to get it at all. It doesn't matter if an U-21 international plays for Drogs, Kilkenny or UCD, there's minimum fees that have to be footed as well as a decent contract that has to be given to persuade them to go full time with them rather than wait for interest overseas.

So are they definitely under contract? If not....

Doesn't matter. They're under 24 and have spent two years with the club. Any club signing them must pay a minimum fee as compensation for their development. I think that fee goes up with underage caps.

Any idea what size of fee PS?

Yep. Also the club that signs the player has a factor also;

(on provision of U-21 caps)
Premiership- €240k
Championship/SPL- €180k
League One/SL1- €120k
League Two- €60k

Given the fact that the second placed team in the eL beat the best team in Scottish League One 7-3 on aggregate our league should be in that category at least.

It was in the media around the time of the Roy O'Donovan transfer speculation. It's probably where the Dicker fee came from as well.
