how long does it take for the club to get its act together and sort out the on line shop - its embarrassing that "in this day and age" it takes so long for the club ever to sort anything out - god only knows how much revenue through their incompetence

To be fair a lot of the clubs are having difficulty getting sufficient gear from their kit makers to satisfy demand from supporters. My club deal with O'Neill's and while their kit is good quality we often don't have replica shirts for sale for at least the first two months of the season. Waterford United officials last night told me Diadora are no better and they are looking for a new kit maker for their requirements.

This is something we are actively pursuing at the moment so there should be movement on it in the coming weeks

With all due respect gustavo the season ends in a couple of weeks and the gear will then be out of date as we'll probably change the strip again next season. But on a more serious note when the shop does eventually go on line who will decide the pricing of the merchandise? Recently I was in the shop in the showgrounds with a friend who wanted to buy his brother a jersey. Having taken it to the counter to pay he was told he'd be wiser to buy it down town in the Jako shop as they are a fiver cheaper there. This is crazy and you know what's even crazier - he did get the jersey cheaper down town and he saved more than a fiver!!
It would only happen in the club I love with a passion.

The club gets a much larger cut if you but your jerseys from the shop in The Showgrounds

anyone have any update on this? any plans to get on line shop going, or at least photos of new merchandise up on the website (i'm presuming there will be new merchandise available for the new season)?

Putting up an online club shop has come up so many times over the past few years. I believe it's a combination of no resources available to run an online shop and an unwillingness to invest the money for the initial cost.If other clubs can do it then so should we - however the type of people to initiate and put in place such a thing just arent there. The people at sligorovers.com put their own time in and I'm sure they'd be the first to want a better site along with an online shop - but the resources just are not there. Ideas/issue raising is great but there is far more doing that than there are people at the club to actually implement. I've harped on before that change is needed and that means new people coming into a brand new structure at Sligo Rovers FC.

If it is Umbro, then they'll probably have them on the FAI website like they have with the junkies down the road, shams, shels and st.pats.

jako have done great service for this football club over the years since they first came on the scene in Sligo and im sure its not their fault that theres no online shop in connection with rovers on the website.

Lads Sligo Rovers do not handle their merchandise Jako do and from what I gather they are the only club who allow a third party sell their merchandise.

Even the FAI couldnt believe it when they were down that you couldnt buy the jersey in elverys or lifestyle.
So realistically it is probably not up to the club to finance this on line shop, would be better if Jako had their shop in line.

even a few pictures on the club website of merchandise available would be a help.

i did get in touch with Jako via the address given on the club website & they are very helpful. i have dealt with Jako a bit in the past & always found them to be very good.
