Bizarre. I sent out a broadcast email to @corkcityfc.net today and got a rake of bounces back, so I just did some manual testing and found out that out of 304 registered users, only 20 accounts are still active!

Since there's a fair chance that most of the remaining users are Foot.ie posters, can I ask you guys to try out this (http://demo.hivemail.com/) webmail system and post here with your impressions? Of course, everyone's welcome to have a look, as I may introduce this service for Foot.ie users later, but please note that the only people I'll really pay attention to in the case of corkcityfc.net are the remaining 20 users. And yes, I have a list. :)

Gods no, you'd stick with what you have, and you'd access it from Foot.ie. The only issue with this is cost, between the licence and the relatively heavy resources it would use (because people tend to check their mail quite a lot). I didn't realise there were so few corkcityfc.net users left though, which makes it very suitable for a testbed.

Just took a good look though the demo webmail, all the features that Everyone.net supply are there but the new one just looks nicer, better feel to it.
God I'll miss those pop-up adds.

I hate doing opt-out but in this case I'm willing to make an exception: Since most people have chosen to not reply to my email requesting feedback on Hivemail - thanks to those who did btw - I'm going to go ahead and migrate everyone anyway. I'll post details on how this will work shortly.

Sent to all active corkcityfc.net user this morning.
IMPORTANT: IF YOU DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL BY JUNE 30, YOU WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO USE YOUR CORKCITYFC.NET EMAIL ACCOUNT. THE OPERATORS OF THE CORKCITYFC.NET EMAIL SERVICE DISCLAIM ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE MIGRATION OF CORKCITYFC.NET MAIL HANDLING TO LOCAL OPERATION ON THE FOOT.IE MAIL SERVER.
I'll be starting the migration from Everyone.net to Foot.ie for corkcityfc.net email shortly. Each of you will be set up with a temporary account @temp.corkcityfc.net, to which you'll be able to send any mail remaining in your Everyone.net account. You'll also be able to migrate your contacts. In order to set the account up, I need the following basic information from you:
Secondary Email:
Real Name:
Password:
Secret Question:
Sectet Answer:
- "Secondary Email" should be your primary email account; where we can contact you if there is a problem with your Foot.ie account.
- "Real Name" and "Password" should be obvious.
- "Secret Question" and "Secret Answer" are used to retrieve your password.
You'll be able to change all of these when you login to Foot.ie Mail the first time.
Unless everyone responds earlier, I'll begin the final step of the migration process on the 1st of July. On that date I'll repoint mail handling for corkcityfc.net to the Foot.ie server, and both your Everyone.net and Foot.ie accounts will run in parallel. The migration should take between 24 and 48 hours, but I'll leave temp.corkcityfc.net in place for a week to be sure. After that, all access and handling will be via the Foot.ie server. If you lose your account because you couldn't be bothered your ass replying to this, tough. This goes for mods on Foot.ie too - no exceptions.
If you have any questions, let me know.
Thanks,
adam
