Nothing to worry about here I think. It looks like we'll have the usual large section of the crowd now, WU are crippled with injuries and City are in their best form of the season (not saying much).
With none of the Mulcahys playing and another defender or two out, I can see Healy, Farrelly and Gamble sharing the ball for most of the match.
Apart from Hayes, who's a great player, (unsure if he's playing lately) they will not have the players that put up the usual solid resiliance. Vinny Sull will prob play on the wing but should be isolated either way.
A goal in the first half hour, keep the pressure on and they'll fold.
I'd go as far as to say it could be five nil.*
Our strikers are in form. I wouldn't be rushing Flynny back.
This might be a good game to try Darren Murphy out at CB as I wouldn't expect them to play 2 strikers.
*Just to make the WUFC fans even happier to quote me after we lose 1nil.

Preview: Waterford United v Cork City
Waterford United host Cork City in Saturday's televised FAI Cup quarter-final game. The Munster derby is set to be a sell-out with the capacity limited to just 1,240 due to ongoing work at the Regional Sports Centre in Waterford. That work will see the ground's seating capacity rise to over 3,000 but for Saturday most fans will have to make do with watching on TV.
Waterford claimed a scoreless draw with Bohemians last weekend to boost their relegation battle with Longford Town. Just two points ahead of Longford, Waterford still face a huge battle to avoid even the automatic relegation spot. Cork City are still chasing a good league finish and currently fourth in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland, they now have Saint Patrick's Athletic in their sights although the eleven point deficit on leaders Drogheda United would seem insurmountable.

Waterford could not even sell their 1000 odd ticket allocation so City fans should make up as much as 40% of the crowd.

Thats because it wasn't clear to everyone that the tickets had to be bought before saturday...People will come along tonight expecting to pay on the gate and won't be allowed in!!!
COME ON BLUES !!!!

Too much to sell in advance of the game. I think they sold 800 or so but some City fans probably bought them too.

 Our original allocation was 205. Sold like hotcakes. You sent us 150 more on Thursday, sold again. Then Friday since ye could shift more than 500 tickets for a cup 1/4 final against ye're nearest rivals ye sent us more.
Sorry but people need more than a day to organise going away.If ye'd given them to us last week they would have sold.
We still had 350-400 there, nearly double our original allocation.
We're not the ones that should be embarrassed.
Capacity of 1200 and 300 tickets left half hour before kick off.
Not unhappy with the draw. We dominated & attacked well but can't defend set pieces so Waterford did the post twice. Waterford defending poor but I think the wind helped them on occasions.
Confident of finishing the job on proper pitch that isn't windswept & on Tuesday.

300 were offered on Saturday morning, after the 205 + 150 ... come off the stage.

Its like a wind tunnel for a field of turnips, and i'm being serious here.

The pitch was in fine condition last night. There was nothing to be done for the conditions

I'll continue with my predictions in post1 for Tuesday night.
Its like a wind tunnel for a field of turnips, and i'm being serious here.
The surface looked ok but wind tunnel doesn't help football & new stand will only make that worse.

I know yeah! We took 205 and sold them. took another allocation and sold them up to 3pm on Sturday in the Club shop, and Waterford wanted us to take yet more!
What a shambles!
