I hate McAfee.

I only bought because I'd been convinced Norton was evil :(

Use AVG. Norton is evil mcafee is only a slight improvement AVG is free I've been using it for over a year with no problems. http://free.grisoft.com/ use windows firewall and adaware to remove spyware.

Cheers will definitely look into it if I can't get McAfee to work later

Lot of it went over my very non-techy head you see :o :)

AVG is a big steaming pile of manure - that doesn't even catch the most well known of viruses.

Use either Avast! or F-Secure for a Virus solution and Zone Alarm for your firewall - Windows Firewall is still quite flaky in places.

Enable your router's firewall if you have Broadband in place.

Works fine for me, without slowing down my computer like norton. only spyware getting in and adaware takes care of that.
