Kevin Spacey and Julia Robeerts Irish brogues do leave a lot to be desired.

However ín my opinion the King of crappy Irish accents can be no other than Richard Gere in the Jackal. A tough IRA assassin that sounds like a leprechaun.

Cringeworthy stuff.

Anyone else?

Gere is bad but he's not in the same league as Spacey's in Ordinary Decent Criminal.

Brad Pitt in that Guy Ritchie film, 'Snatch' I think it was... Tom Cruises one in Far and Away. 'Jayz Shannon you're a corker'

As they go, I thought that wasn't bad either.

I haven't seen Tom Cruise's effort, but anyone who has seems to rate it among the very worst.

hell yeah! was gonna agree with Tom and Nicole but this one is the true champion! I love Spacey but this was shocking bad. I thought Brad Pitts performance in Snatch was brilliant from his accent to his first scene - taking a dump behind a torched out car!! Classic!! :D :D

Is that for real? I remember watching the cartoon when I was young but I don't ever remember it being that heavy.

Very political.
Do you not remember Captain Planets eco-message at the end of each episode?

Brad Pitt-Class acting.

Tom Cruise-Far and Away the worst.
Other bad ones, any actor who played the Police Chief in any Batman film and John Wayne in The Quiet Man.

Julia Roberts (the worlds 2nd most overrated actress behind the reprehensible sandra Bullock) & the Tom & Nicole farce that was far & away

I thought Brad Pitts pikey in Snatch was pretty believable actually.

Cate Blanchett was very poor as veronica Guerin.
I'm sure that film had plenty of driving on the right-hand side of the road aswell.

- the title goes to an Irishman!!! - an upper class twit by the name of Pierce Brosnan. Watch the film Evelyn and you will see why - a scandalous attempt by an Irishman trying to portray an Irishman

Saw the trailer for that and you might be right,it was terrible.Stage Irish at its worst.

Do they ever put on an accent? Surely they've just picked up some American influence on their accents from spending so much time over there?

I can't honestly believe that they've genuinely picked it up as badly as they sound and also as quickly as they did.

Anyone see LA Confidential last night?

James Cromwell as Captain Dudley SMith had a terrible Irish accent. He called everyone boyo or lad and at point says "I wouldn't want to be Exley for all the whiskey in Ireland".
