Injuries to Paddy Purcell and Brian Buckley. Horrible second half (I was assured that the first was no better).

what an unlucky night all around. was practically a whole different team on the pitch by the second half. players having to play out of position, injuries etc... not a good night. ref was dreadful. purcell should be back for the next match....he only needed stitchs on a cut from an elbow he got. think they just didn't want to let purcell back on the pitch as he was rightly ****ed off with the guy that elbowed him and he didn't look like calming down when leaving the pitch. i'd say he was out for blood if he got back on the pitch.

things didnt just click for this game, limerick didnt play too bad, just didnt get the bounce of the ball... they went for it in the second half but after not scoring after 20 minutes it was only a matter of time before they got stretched and caught. I thought that they didnt vary the play too much, it was all high balls into the box and the monaghan defence coped well with them. John Tierney played well though.

Perhaps he's just puzzled as to why he hasn't been making the bench after doing quite well earlier in the year. Would have been useful last night.

I have to say that there was no creative thinking on the ball by the limerick team and our back 4 were well able to mop up anything that you threw at us. We did ok and glad to see Robbie Farrell scoring again, sad to see him come off injured tho.

Missed the first few mins so didnt see what happened to Darren Meenan but it was a nasty injury, wouldnt fancy a burst blood vessel in my stomach!

Just a sidenote on our esteemed CEO. What kind of tool is he? Players out warmig up and he's booming out over the p.a about how last weeks 4-0 hammering against Shels was a dreadful result and that we need to be better. Nice way to motivate those players....remind them publicly how bad they are. Nice one Ger.

I agree with your point but are you sure it was Ger Finnin, he doesn't do the PA normally.

Ralph was away on Friday night so Finnin did it.

Ya agreed and it was kinda pathetic thanking everyone for coming to the match for this lovely Eircom League match even though there was a rugby match on. Funny but wasnt very professinal. On a lighter note:D, is anyone going to wexford on sunday?

I doubt if anybody would have had an issue with him thanking people for coming to the match. But (and I say but because I wasn't there) if he did make reference to the teams inadequate performance of the previous week while the players were out doing a warm up, then quite frankly, I'd be very annoyed if I was one of those players.

cant disagree there, both yer goals were well taken and bar j.tierney we showed no imagination and once again p.moran on the bench.from my view in the shed skee spent most of the 2nd half in the dugout.dundalk are a shambles at the moment, yet we cant take advantage...

I agree there, but if the players really want it, the opportunity is still there. Call me crazy but we are not out of it yet. IF we beat Cobh on friday then there is a slight chance, as Dundalk are playing Finn Harps away. I honestly dont see Dundalk getting anything out of this game so we will be 6 points behind Dundalk with a game in hand. IF we beat Wexford on Sunday then we will be only 3 points behind and anything can happen from then on... I live in hope ;)

Thats the kinda optimisim I like to see. If you were to push Dundalk out of contention altogether I would laugh so hard I would probably die.

Dundalk will struggle against Harps, no doubt about it, unless harps play their U21s, Dundalk may have a small window of opportunity then.

Not sure you can beat Cobh but a draw would be a good result. You can beat Wexford am sure if you play less of that longball crap you played on Friday.

I like the sound of that :D
Dont know why but I've a good feeling about Friday, would be nice to end Cobh's unbeaten run, payback for their last minute winner.
Its very hard to predict anything at the moment our results are so up & down, but I'll stick with the optimists for a while longer :)
