I heard it somewhere too, can't remember if it was on the net or the radio. Could even have been somewhere on here

Found it here (http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20070905/sp_soccer_afp/fbleur2008czeirlsmr_070905134228), not worth the paper its written on, IMO...

They can well afford to rest him for the San Marino game and have him fit to face us. It's still a week away.

I dont think he's worth the team sheet paper he's written on :D

I personally hope he plays. They have a number of better strikers in that squad than him.

Be good if can't play, the Koller/Baros partnership has served the czechs very well for years

Only a really good reflex stop by Henderson stopped him scoring in Dublin if I recall correctly. We defended a corner really badly in the first half.

31 goals in 58 games. Top scorer Euro 2004. Playing for one of the most consistently impressive teams in the CL. Koller's regular partner.

Yeah, I hope he's fit too.

It is a rare experience for us but often enough you see an average player in league football playing really well in his (east european) countries set up.

Baros is an Aston Villa reject midget flop! I hope he's fit.

No more than Robbie Keane is an Inter Milan / Leeds United reject midget flop.

Who are these better stikers exactly?

Marek Kuli? (AC Sparta Praha), Martin Fenin (FK Teplice), Stanislav Vl?ek (SK Slavia Praha)?

Is that opinion drawn from your extensive knowledge of the Czech Domestic League???

It's non-sensical to think the Czechs are stronger without Baros, he plays out of his skin for them. Id bet any money that he will head the betting for first goalscorer before this game, and rightly so given his record. He'd walk into our team

Apparently as mentioned on an earlier thread Stanislav Vlček banged in two goals against Ajax in the Champions League qualifiers a few nights ago and is meant to be quality (Hibs4ever's words not mine). I personally haven't seen him play but I have seen Baros play and there's not much to fear from him tbh.

I personally wouldn't consider Baros to be as good as Keane or Doyle. His premiership scoring record was abyssmal (9 in 42 for Aston Villa if wikipedia is correct).

I'd much rather a minor injury ruled Koller out.
