Sad news today lads.Paddy Shortt passed away yesterday evrning..Paddy played for Rams in the early 80`s and was a great player as well as a great character.I worked for him that time doing deliveries around Cobh and the people loved him.He always had a smile for them...
He will be sadly missed...

Aye. Sad day alright. A champion character. For those of you on here that would have seen him play then I'm sure you'll agree he was a tremendous player with a great heart and a mad passion for results!

Very sad news. I only found out at the weekend that he was very ill. R.I.P. Paddy.

shorty by name but huge in nature...... a legend in league of irl played for Cork hibs and celtic , limerick, waterford and and Cobh Ramblers .mallow chorontians .He was very influential in the Rams 83 team in the cup run.... paddy won medals at every level junior ,intermediate and senior...
condolences to all of paddys family he was a great player and a greater oerson ..... rest in peace now and thanks for the memories...:ball:

Heartfelt commiserations to Paddy's family and friends.

Definitely one of football's characters who tackled his illness with the same bravery and gusto he carried with him on the field.
