great result for helsingborgs- delighted drogheda are out

Good man, very good post, reckon it's a POTM contender, now toddle off to school and take out your Larsson pencilcase and at lunchtime you can pretend you are scoring for the great Irish team that is Celtic.:rolleyes:

Watched the game last night on telly.

Drogheda were under the kosh from the start and looked shaky. A few bad clearances from the keeper nearly led to a goal and the Swedes hit the post on three minutes. But after that Drogheda played some decent passing football and Ollie Cahil set up Zayed for their only chance on goal which he balooned into the stand. Drogheda were fairly decent in the first half but like most EL sides in Europe they couldn't break down the defence.

Helsingborgs controlled the whole game in the second half and Drogheda struggled to cope. Connor was beaten at his front post for the first two goals which were scrappy enough. The heart was gone out of it by the third goal. All in all Drogheda didn't deserve to win and eventhough they only got two or three corners and a couple of dangerous freekicks, they should have got them right because away from home, the best chance for EL sides to score are from set pieces.

Well done to thefans who looked like they had a great time regardless of the result and cheered both teams off at the end.

I'd say that his location shows it wasn't on anything we'd see. ;)

hard to break down a defence when you set out to not concede, dont blame drogs we tried to do the same but Keane going off ****ed us up. EL sides are not below that level they just lack the exp of scoring your one and only chance.

Back from the trip and to be honest we didn't deserve anything from the game. As was mentioned above, we weathered the storm in the first half but after we were never going to cause them any trouble.

I think Doolo made the subs at the right time but the wrong changes. But sure against Galway he made a change and it got us 2 goals straight after, so sometimes it works other times against the better teams it doesn't.

Roll on the league title.
