No mention of any yet. It's a bit annoying seeing the new gantry not being used, didn't seem to cause tg4 any trouble but the guy who films for el weekly doesn't seem to keen on going up there.

the problem for him is the sightlines from where he positions his camera on the gantry he cant get the full pitch in view on the old stand and would need a 2nd camera to do that.

How many times have you been on this season? I seem to remember you being on a bit at the start of the season ?

bad design or did we not know this during construction?

i'm not moaning but it is annoying having a brand spanking new stand when it doesn't get seen during the weekly highlights!

a bit like turners cross where you only see the small stand as no gantry able to go up there facing the good stand!

Its not bad design just he would need 2 cameras to cover the game properly.

Hence it is a bad bloody design, as it should have been designed so only one would be needed. Sheesh.

No his camera wouldnt be up to the same standard as the T.V. Companies and TG4 had 5 cameras for the Sunderland game.

My point is it was a bit stupid building a gantry for the, what, one or two times a season that the live cameras will be there for, instead of building one to suit the camera that is there 18 times a season.
So instead of having a gantry that can be used 17 timea a season, we have one that will be used maybe once or twice at the whim of the TV companies

The grant that pays for this gantry is part paid by those same TV Companies.

Oh, well that is okay so, so long as someone else pays for something that is obsolete more often than not, we might as well stick it in there. While we're at it, any chance of getting a few quid off astronomy Ireland to put in a telescope so we can all watch Haley's Comet when it passes by again in 2062. Its true, you really have a difficulty with any sort of criticism, constructive or otherwise, in relation to the club

The man who does the games says the gantry is perfect for good Quality Cameras but for him to cover the game properly he needs 2 cameras .Ask him on Friday night and actually why is it criticism of the club .The club has a minority on the development commitee who are developing the ground.

Well if I'm being honest, my first reaction to any criticism directed towards the club would be to defend GUFC 100%, I suppose thats the baggage thats comes with loving a club...and FFS gufct will you make sure the near gate is open to the season ticket holders for the rest of the season, I've a bad leg ya know...:p

And what good does that? If you are blind to a failing, how can you address that failing? I understand your desire to protect the club, but constructive criticism should always be look upon favourable, not defensively IMO

Wasn't amused with TV3 scheduling Eircom league special at 23.50 for the last 2 weeks. It was bad enough at 23.30. It's great to have the program but it seems to be getting more and more mickey mouse

i think with a start time when only a few 1000 are watching t.v and it only being on for 30 mins clubs will not find it feasable to send them footage.we were the first game shown last night and it was just before midnight and only lasted around 5 mins,is that worth it??????
the ground did look empty too because you couldnt see the new stand,a real shame because the crowd in it went mad when we equalised.

We can see what yer man is on about now the angles he was getting were shocking, nothing he could do about it. You knew the ground wasnt empty with the roar that went up for Lesters free. What a cracker I originally thought it took a deflection it was incredible and didnt even rise that much off the ground. Id love to see the speed it was travelling at.
