Just a quick question...how is he still the Under 21 manager. We appear to have acheived nothing with him as underage manager. IMO the under 21 manager should be a young up and coming manager, who has the possibility of stepping up to the full international job in time....that aint gonna happen with Givens. For example it would have been more logical to let Staunton get some experience managing the under 21s before letting him near the full international team. Having Givens, as unsackable as he seems, as manager of the under 21s seems a bit dismissive of our under age tams in my opinion. More empassis should be put on them

Thats a good question. The teams overall have underachieved with him as manager and his man management skills are poor. I'm guessing there must be some sense of loyalty there as he gave up a good job with Arsenal's academy to take the job, but he has been there now forever and it shows a lack of ambition on his part as well to be satisfied managing a team for 6 games or so a year. Would like to see someone new brought in, maybe someone like Steve Heighway who has had success bring young players through.

Been done to death here before. Bottom answer is your post's pretty much spot on but doesn't change the reality of things.
