West Brom's Morrison on Scotland debut: I'm English
tribalfooball.com - August 20, 2007

As he prepares to make his Scotland debut, West Brom midfielder James Morrison admits he's English through-and-through.

"I am English, but I want to kick on my career and I feel this is the best way forward for me," said Morrison, who will make his Scotland debut against South Africa tomorrow.

"I'd played for England at youth team level all the way up to the under-20 side, so it was a tough decision for me.

"I had the chance to play for the England under-21s this week, but I wanted to further my career and Scotland are giving me that chance.

"I liked the plans Alex McLeish told me he has for the team and I wanted to be a part of them. Steve McClaren never spoke to me about an England call-up and, to be honest, I didn't think it would happen soon."

If I was McLeish, I'd drop him because no matter how good a footballer he is, he's clearly too stupid to live. :)

Can you imagine the reaction on here if one of Stan's Granny-rule acquisitions said the same thing the day before his debut. :D

I wouldn't be surprised if it was caused by a hard tackle from one of the other Scottish lads.
