Right me and a few mates are after finding return flights for €35 inc taxes for the day before the Valencia/Barca game in the Mestalla in December. We're all booked and everything (why not at that price!) so I was wondering if anyone has any experience in trying to get tickets for a big game at the Mestalla? Any idea when these tickets would be out and how best to go about getting them? My girlfriend speaks fluent Spanish so might try explore that avenue...

Cheers in advance

I've been to the Mestalla a few times, Vs. Deportivo being the biggest match. Never had a problem getting tickets. There's usually OAP's selling tickets outside the ground on match day's, they get them cheaper and sell them at cost price for ordinary adult ticket. I'd say you'd also get tickets at ticket office on the day anyway. Should be no hassle to be honest.

Cheers Sligoman.

Do you not think it will be a sell out since its Barcelona? Apparently Barca don't bring too big an away support so getting tickets into the away end might be an idea too...

I've been a season ticket holder at Mestalla (no The!) for many years so should be able to help. In Ireland at the moment but expect to be back in Valencia in September.

For most games it is possible to buy a ticket on matchday but visits of Real Madrid and Barcelona are a different story and almost always sell out. Normally ticket prices start at about €20 but for RM and FCB games the club hikes the prices up to approx €50 minimum. These seats are really high up in the stadium). There are no cheap tickets for OAPs, what the Sligo fan saw was probably people selling the use of their mates-who-couldn't-attend season tickets. This is often a good way of getting a good seat at a cheaper than ticket office price but a bit risky for FCB, especially if there are a few of you.

Usually tickets don't go on sale until the week of the game. They will be available at the club ticket office and club shops in the city centre. As far as I know it's not possible to buy them online or over the phone.

By the way, the game may be played on the Saturday or Sunday, it won't be decided until some time in December.

Barcelona often bring a decent support to Mestalla, by Spanish standards anyway. The away end is up in the "cheap" seats and not relly recommended if you want a good view. Not sure if away tickets are available at Mestalla ticket office.

I'll PM you my email address.

Ring your hotel now and ask them to get you tickets.

There's a Valencia "penya" in Ireland. Might be an idea to contact them

I've seen the reverse fixture btw...

There are no tickets available until December, there's nothing any hotel can do about it.

I am the Penya Valencianista! (well, me and a couple of others)
