Goalkeepers:
Darren Quigley (UCD),Darren Randolph (Charlton Athletic).

Defenders: Eddie Nolan, Tony Kane (both Blackburn Rovers), Richard Keogh (Bristol City), Darren O’Dea (Celtic), Stephen O’Halloran (Aston Villa), Conor Powell (Bohemians).

Midfielders: Darron Gibson (Manchester United), Stephen Quinn (Sheffield United), Michael Collins (Huddersfield Town), Stephen Gleeson (Wolves), Patrick Cregg (Falkirk), Keith Treacy (Blackburn Rovers).

Forwards: Adam Rooney (Stoke City), Billy Clarke (Ipswich Town), Jim O’Brien (Celtic), Anthony Stokes (Sunderland).

Really surprised that Owen Garvin has not had a call up. I hope he is not being made to pay for expressing his disappointment at missing out on the USA. Certainly a better prospect than several named.

Very odd about Garvan. He played the full 90 for Ipswich on Saturday. There's something up I reckon.

We'd have qualified for the European U19s if we'd had midfield cover for the suspended Bayly against Germany.

Not a bad squad...on paper at least. Givens will probably work his magic though and make them look as if they're on day release.

Somebody posted before that Caffery asked Staunton not to pick Garvan(who had an excellant game on Sat apparantly). He seems to be persona non grata atm.Hes only 19.Seems very harsh whatever the problem is.

Good to see EL players involved, 3 in the squad, pity its not more. But suppose if they were international standard they'd be in England by now.

Or you could look at it as in if they were in England they would automatically be international standard. That's how Stan looks at it. :D

Funny thing is Gary Dicker left UCD so he could play in England and increase his chances of making the senior squad someday, ends up in Birmingham reserves and his replacement at UCD jumps ahead of him in the U-21 pecking order.:)
