Feast of football - 04 April 2003


With just one week to go until the big kick off, eircom League clubs are making their final preparations for the season with several pre-season friendlies taking place this weekend.

Latvian champions Skonto Riga are currently involved in a short Irish tour and they will face Bohemians at Dalymount Park on Saturday (Kick off 7:00) before taking on UCD at Belfield Park on Monday evening (Kick off 7:45).

On Saturday, there are games being played all over the country with Finn Harps and Derry City hosting, Shelbourne and Sligo Rovers in the north east, Bohemians clash with Skonto and Dubin City's Under 21 clash with Shelbourne in Dublin, Dundalk clash with Drogheda United in Navan Co. Meath while Longford Town will face Kildare County at home.

Sunday is also a busy day with Shamrock Rovers playing two games - in Bray and against Dublin City, Athlone Town entertaining Limerick and Bohemians Under 21s taking on AIB.

April 5th

Drogheda United v Dundalk - Meath & District League pitch, Navan (Kick off 3.00)
Finn Harps v Shelbourne - Finn Park (Kick off 6.00)

Derry City v Sligo Rovers - Brandywell (Kick off 7:30)
Dublin City v Shelbourne (Under 21) ALSAA (Kick off 11:00)

April 6th
Athlone Town v Limerick - St Mel's Park (Kick off 12:00)
Bohemians v AIB (Under 21) - Sportslink (Kick off 12:00)
Bray Wanderers v Shamrock Rovers - Carlisle Grounds (Kick off 1:00)
Dublin City v Shamrock Rovers - Tolka Rovers, Griffith Avenue ext. (Kick off 3:00)

April 7th
UCD v Skonto Riga - Dalymount Park (Kick off 7:45)
